I dug out the tires tonight that need mounted.

I have a set of rear ags and front turfs off the 854 that will be joining this pile soon.

I plan on following the treatment outlined in this post.

Going to pressure wash them, soak them in Ru-Glyde in trash bags, then paint them with some Miller Tire paint.

I plan on tubing them all so the dry rot cracking doesn't really bother. My main concern with them is that one set of the ags have areas where some layers of rubber peeled off the bead where they were rusted on the rim. Since I will be running them with tubes I think I should be fine.  If it's noticeable at the rim I will run them as the inside dual.

The 704 will get duals rear ags and front ags. The 854 will be getting front and rear ags, and the 653 will be getting front and rear turfs.

Well I worked on the tire restoration as I had time this week. Here they are all laid out.

I ended up opting to skip the RuGlyde treatment due to my remaining time before my next semester starts. I also ended up having American Automotive Black Tire Paint instead of the Miller.

The Bleche White worked great with some gentle scrubbing from a stiff brush. Here are a few comparison shots between a cleaned and uncleaned tire.

The tire paint also worked great. I sprayed six 6-12 tires and six 4.0/8 tires. I applied two coats but I am certain that one was sufficent. My paint area is fairly dim and I am fairly blind. The second coat was really a stopgap measure incase I missed any areas.

I applied the paint very heavy and did get some runs. After the tires were dry there were however no noticeable runs. Many of the reviews online mentioned this paint acted more like a dye and I would agree.

I used 5oz of the paint leaving me another 123oz to use. I sincerley hope I never have cause to use it all thats alot of tires!

Here is a comparison of some painted and unpainted tires.

This is a completed Silvertown compared to an unrestored Silvertown I have on the 854.

I purchased a Harbor Freight Mini tire changer yesterday and hope to have a few sets mounted in the next few days.

Unfortunately no.  I am still working 50-60 hour weeks and going to college full time so Ibhavent had a ton of time for hobbies unfortunately.

I hope to get back into it here soon but have some higher priorities.

Two years later, I have three mounted tires.

I am in my last semester of school and only have two classes this semester. I really hope to find time to work on this project in the next few months.
