MaineDad 85 #1 Posted March 21, 2009 Guys, Tomorrow I am driving up to Bar Harbor to put on a new regulator and ignition switch on my nephews Raider 10. The original ignition switch is a 5 pole switch. If I do not care about lights and the cigarette lighter, can I use a 4 pole switch? I have a real heavy duty marine switch that has 4 poles. The Raider 10 has an electric PTO too. Your thoughts? BTW the original switch and regulator caught on fire... Cannot use them now
past7971 0 #2 Posted March 21, 2009 Those Tecumsehs with solid-state need a grounded switch to shut-off and "open" ground to run. I dont know how your marine switch is set-up but if you put 12volts power to ignition, your NOT going to like what happens next!!!!! You need to make sure wiring and igniton switch function like original or you may have a repeat experience with fire extinguisher-----
