Last Weeks Estate Sale & Hopefully Tomorrows Garage Sale

Recommended Posts

oliver2-44

Went to an Estate Sale last Saturday at at house and farm shop where the guy had a small equipment repair shop down near our farm.   Everything was to pricey so I didn't buy anything.   My sister called today and said the family is holding a "Garage Sale" tomorrow because there was a lot of stuff left.  She's going to scope it out for me in the morning, and if things are reasonable, i'll head that way (to go deer hunting at the farm of course)

I've never seen a Eaton up close, so wondered if this is a 700 or 1100?   It didn't have a place for a filter to mount directly to it. But it had the 2 hydraulic tubing lines and I wasn't sure what they were for? Axles are 1-1/8"   looks like its been sitting out in the weather awhile didn't find any tag on it?

A few other items I took pictures of.  There were a few more goodies if the price comes down!

I doubt that it would be any good if a repair shop left it outside.

:confusion-confused:             Not sure what you would ever do with the B&S Tool kit, but it would be cool to have.

Jim,

Often the reason to own something is: because I don't already have one. I think that's the case here. I have several tools for that very reason, and will most likely add more in the future!

My brother and I stopped at an estate auction last Saturday. Despite the frigid temperatures and wind chill, the place was packed and I really under dressed. We took a quick stroll around in search of WO's and Kubotas. 1 yellow and red WO that looked to have original or a very good and old paint job and one Kubota generator frame. Everything else was non running outdoor power equipment and random riding mowers. Lots of scraper folks where there..

Saw a "riding mower" that was maybe 2.5' tall with a deck no wider than a traditional push mower. Never seen anything like that before.

I'm actually in search of an Eaton 1100 for my Kubota. If anything, I'd like to find a non functioning unit just to take apart and get an understanding of how everything functions. It's hard to tell in the photo, but is the pump and axle assembly all one piece? With my Kubota, the pump bolts onto the axle housings. And the fan is facing the front of the tractor as well.

Well, the Garage Sale pricing was make a pile and an offer, which was excellent, as the Saturday evening hunting part of the trip yielded very little to even watch.  So I ended up with some good items to put in the parts shed for future needs

I’ll go through thes and post a list to see if anyone can use these parts.

These K161 and K181 both rotate nicely but don’t seem to have much compression, good pull starters. The bluish one has an aluminum gas tank, so no rust or holes.

These two 8 speed transaxle were the only WH stuff around. They have 1” axles, they both shift into all gears so should be good for some parts

I passed on the Eaton Auto pictured above. But I still would be interested if it is a 700 or 1100 so I learn the differance

Thanks for that heads up  @stevasaurus, this is my first k161,k181 and I wasn't sure if they had ACR  or not.

I just realized in the photo of these engines sitting side by side that one was right hand pull and the other left hand pull.

Also, i,m speculating that both these engines were used for some fixed task, such as an irrigation pump or something.  In the photo below,  just below the carb is what  I'm thinking is some type of throttle/fuel shut off device.  Anyone familiar with how this device worked?

you can change the position of the recoil easily, the red one looks like it came off a rototiller.

FYI if those are labeled correctly... you should have a K141 (6.25HP)and K161 (7HP).  Very nice garages sale score. Always good when you can pick up some vintage K-series at a good price.

Thanks @CasualObserver, you are correct. iIhaven't dealt with any of the smaller k series engines and forget about the k141 when I go through the size numbers in my head.
