 Glad you could join us!

The 856 was a horizontal shaft engine.

But that looks like a vertical shaft plow. And that sticker

graphics is from the late 80's, maybe 90's..... Of course

tractors and attachments get re-decaled all the time.

Now I have an original 1966 snow plow for my 656 and

it looks completely different. I could try to post a picture

of it later if you want.

I cannot imagine they would use different style plows for

those models of tractors.

If it still has it's model and serial number tag....we can tell

you more about it. Just post the numbers here.

I imagine you are!!!! Might have a Wheel Horse decal on it but I'm baffled by what it came off of. I'm sure with enough "determination" you could figure out a way to use it but I think your better off to find the right one for your tractor. Should have an"A" shaped frame that attaches with hitch/clamp on rear axle.

What do you think TDB---Maybe off the 200-series lawn tractor???

It looks like a late 80's to early 90's "Maroon" stripe

vertical engine plow. (If the decal is original)

And there will be folks here who love the maroon

stripe wheel horses.... They most likely would be

interested in it.

And the wheel horse horizontal engine plows are

easily aquired (depending on your location).

Yes it is a 1989 42" wheel horse snow blade.

There were no parts list for it on partstree.com but

the site did list it.

Toro site needs a valid serial number.

And did they change their site? Does not seem

as user friendly as before.

That helps--Model 16-42BL01 comes back as a 1989 year blade. Will fit 208, 211, 212 tractors. Does NOT show working on 252, 257's

66856--If it were my call, I'd think you'll be MUCH happier getting the right one to fit. Place picture of yours with above info and your location in the classifieds section here and see what happens. You should be able to find the right one for hopefully $50-$100 including rear hitch/bracket

Too late Paul!

If you could find an "A" frame from another plow

you could get that one to work with minor modifications.

But chances are if you found the frame.....it would have

a plow already attached and you would be all set....lol

You will also need the quick attach hitch that mounts on

the rear axle for the other plow.

A tractor swap meet or show is your best bet to find one.

Or someone on here might be able to sell you one.

Or.....there is a swap meet and show in Auburn Indiana

starting today thru sunday. Not sure how ambitious that

might sound to you? lol And then there is Craigslist or Ebay.

Let me know if I can be of further help.

p.s. Just to let you know? That blade you have is not as

common as the others with an A frame.... You might get a

good price for it at a swap meet or on craigslist.....lol

I think he already said he is from Illinois.

I bet you could get $125-$150 for that plow.

Polish her up!

I think I would keep it in it's original condition

and don't try to make something work. You can usually

pick up an A-frame plow for $50 to $100.

Now the 60's A-frame plows had a trip lever deal.

I have never used mine....so don't know of any

problems with getting a newer A-frame plow to

work on your 856.

There is also going to be a "wheel horse" swap

meet in Mentone Indiana. It is closer to you than

the Auburn show. There is the place to sell yours

and possibly pick up the right one for your tractor.

And meet some new friends....lol Show is April 18th

all day.....(see the general shows section of posts)
