Hh100 carb help!

Okay guys, I am scratching my head and needing some guidance in regards to my 69 raider 10. The following are the details.

 

Model 1 6041

Tecumseh engine

Model hh100-115095b.

Carb says lme 29/ walbro on the bottom of bowl. It has the mechanical fuel pump that bolts onto the block below the carb. I think i may have discovered that i may have to scap the entire carburetor. When i attempt to screw the bowl back onto the carburetor the first few threads seem stripped and i cannot get the bowl to tighten back on. I gently ran a tap to clean the threads. When i screw the main jet (Uncertain if that the right term) in without the bowl it threads and tightens just fine, but when i put the jet,plastic washer and bowl on, that extra thickness and those first iffy threads arent allowing to bowl to go own.So here are my thoughts. 

 

Carbrescue.com has made it known that lme carbs are known to to due this, not due to over tightening but due to corrosion. I have also read on here someone mention that the bowl gasket expands over time making it difficult to get the bowl back on. Thoughts??

 

Im still scratching my head with a solution to salvage this original carb, which means i will at the very least need a carb rebuild kit. I have found this info so far

 

The following table matches Walbro carburetor manufacturing numbers to Tecumseh carburetor service numbers (part numbers)

 

Walbro  techumseh 

LME-29

631304A

  Should I be searching for a rebuild kit for the info above?

 

And finally, if i need to scrap this carburetor what all will work on the hh100. I know they used the hh100 on john deer 110s and other tractors. Does anyone have experience with using different carbs on these hh100s? Hh120s?

I bought a new replacement carb for my HH10 last year  Was $100 now $130.  These replacement carbs have a shorter body than the original LME 29.  I also had to get a thick mounting plate otherwise the throttle linkage hit the block.  (got mine used last year for $10).  Will get some pics of the set up on the tractor later.

 

 

Edit;  Note the thin mounting plate on the original (red) carb.  See the thicker one on the new carb.
