Just looked in my parts bin, I have a spare set of floorboards.  I’m gonna cut the back off, and see how it looks!

Roughed in the 753 front half, the “bump” in it helps to clear the tensioner :handgestures-thumbupright:.  I will lower the rear a little further, but now folks it’s time to get cleaned up for dinner.

I think it looked allright.

imho think, it looked a bit better when the rear fenders hits the floorboard.

because it is mrs. Pullstart, it may also protects from some dirt from the tyres.

another option shall be, to move the floorboard about one inch to the front, so that it's fitted with the tip of the cutted sidefender of the belt, just to get more space between Floorboard and tyre.

:text-coolphotos:    I suppose if the battery were relocated to behind the hydro pump and the engine moved back it could work OK.  :confusion-confused:  Running boards would be OK if the rear kick up was taken off.

Looks good! What took you so long? I suggested that a couple weeks ago.      :ychain:

Speaking of lazy, I hope any football fans are enjoying their game today!  As for me, I’m a fan of Wheelhorse and shop time is my couch time :handgestures-thumbupright:

Did some belt guard trimmin’, this looks to be as close as I want to get to the tensioner.  Time to attempt to make two guards become one.  I’ll be using @19richie66‘s suggestion by tacking, peening, grinding, repeat.

Clean the paint away from the edge a little and that is ready to go. Should weld up nicely 👍

Did some test welds to set my welder up, figured out I’d be better off cleaning some paint away.  See the two tacked test strip sides, with and without paint nearby...

I would add something to the rear of the running board to prevent a heel from being jammed by the tire. That would hurt.

That might-could be my rear support as well, thanks for the idea!

I’ve got a question for the 2 piece gas tank gurus...  has anyone ever tig welded the bottom plate solid as a fix to the leak problem?  Every time I look at Frank, I think I want to do something to the tank.  Maybe shave the front to fit the hood better?  Does anyone see any issue with welding it up?  Maybe when it sits on the ground it won’t stick out like a sore thumb, but I’ll know it’s there hanging out.

I am gwest suggested the guards on the back of the running boards, was at a pull this summer and a

young girl slid her foot to the rear of the foot rest and got caught between the tire and foot rest, really messed her foot and ankle up

she got an ambulance ride and a nasty scar but was back at it later in the season.

Tough little girl...  thanks for the reminder of serious safety needs!

It was scary when it happened and she was scared, I was suprised at the amount of grown men panicked,

but a little HF jack and 1/2" inpact to remove the tire and get her foot out seemed to calm her down a lot.

EMT were there quickly and mom really helped but dad was a wreck. Sure took the fun out of that day

and safety checks were implemented the next pull.

Have I mentioned that I don’t know how I got by before carbide tipped sawzall blades?  Switching gears back to that battery box, take 2.  I scaled up the dimensions for Putt Putt’s hanging weight by 1.2 times I believe, working with 1/4” plate.  I’m using the compressed air to cool the blade and the saw is turned down to 2, 5 being the fastest.
