Daron1965 644 #1 Posted August 4, 2018 After looking near and far, I finally picked up a 312 8 that was found close by to me. It seems to be in good shape, with 300hrs on it, and it fit my budget. Now I need to figure out how to put a sleeve hitch on the back so I can start turning over some ground. Any advice on that or maintenance would be appreciated. 5
Daron1965 644 #2 Posted August 4, 2018 A few more. I will be removing the deck, even though it has new blades, I don't need this one to cut grass. 5
farmer 1,075 #3 Posted August 4, 2018 You have chosen.....wisely, a great tractor for use in the garden, looks like a smart machine you’ve got and with low hrs too. As you say, get the rear hitch for plough etc and your ready for action. (keep an eye out for some rear wheel weights as they make a big difference when working the soil).

Lee1977 6,221 #7 Posted August 4, 2018 Check out "Wheelhorse Parts and More" in the Vendors section below. He makes one better than the original from Wheel horse.

He has every thing you need. I suggest the rock shaft under the seat also, your 312 probably doesn't have it. You don't need it for a breaking plow, but it helps. Anything heavier like a tiller it definitely helps. He sells the rock shaft also, all of his stuff is new and well made.

MAD MARK 74 #13 Posted August 5, 2018 (edited) I saw that on the local Craigslist, (from Ellwood City) and thought that was an odd seat. Your pictures are a lot better than what was posted. Howd you make out on the deal? Edited August 5, 2018 by MAD MARK
Daron1965 644 #14 Posted August 5, 2018 I thought the seat was odd also, but it is very comfortable. I made out good on the deal. I'm going to remove the deck and sale it, or trade it. I don't need it. This tractor will be my gardening machine once I get the lift components and hitch.
