I tied down a 12' extension ladder at the front of the bed of my pick up and let it hang over the tailgate about six feet. The 12 foot boxes were stacked on top of the ladder and strapped down. A couple of more straps to the front tie points on the truck bed just for good measure and off I went. Probably violated a law or two, but made it home safely. Believe It or not Dick, here in Maine that load would be fully legal as long as there is a red flag on the back, less than six feet from the back bumper, and enough straps in consideration of weight and length.
Pullstart 59,827 #27 Posted September 12, 2018 Looking at 12 and 10 hp differences, I was hoping to swap the C-101 K241 onto the Charger frame while I dissect the K301, but that doesn’t look as easy as it sounds... Different wiring, different oil pan, different exhaust and different ignition. Rats.
pfrederi 17,168 #28 Posted September 12, 2018 If you want to put the 10hp small oil pan (Shaker mount) on the Charger frame mount you could do something like this on my next project tractor. He put a 16hp small pan on a charger 12 frame. two chunks of steel tube. The igniton is no issue just swap out the ignition switch
Pullstart 59,827 #29 Posted September 12, 2018 Are the bolt patters on the oil pan the same, weather big of small? I wouldn’t mind some spacers and longer bolts I suppose. The exhaust I could modify and I thought about swapping all the electronics, as I have eliminated all safeties and have a simple harness now.
pfrederi 17,168 #30 Posted September 12, 2018 This is going to be a winter project so i am not 100% sure but I looked in the spacer tubes and under the frame. the bolts go up through the frame rails through the Spacer tubes and into the small oil pan. I can not tell if he had to drill any new holes in the frame...
Pullstart 59,827 #31 Posted September 12, 2018 Sounds like an easier job than I thought, thanks @pfrederi!
Pullstart 59,827 #32 Posted September 13, 2018 Spent some time in the shop last night, i’ll see if I can get some pics soon. The 12 is engineless and I spent a few minutes with a putty knife cleaning years of grime away. I’ll pull the 10 off the C-101 and see if it bolts up, then make spacers if needed. I forgot to measure pulley height, they might be close from the bottom of the oil pan, I think the 12 is just overall a taller mill.
