Anyone in the CT area want to get together?

Recommended Posts

Guest fireman

Hey All,

I have been kicking it around and want to know if anyone wants to get together on say a monthly basis for a meet and greet. We could alternate the meeting location each time. This way we can get to see everyones collection and workshop/areas. I am willing to host the first one. I will provide beverages and snacks. Heck you can even load up your favorite horse and bring it along for show and tell. The dates I have available for this month are Sunday the 15th, Saturday the 21st, Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th. If anyone is inerested, let me know so we can figure out a date that will work the best. Even if one or two guys want to get together thats fine by me.

Jeff

Fireman, great idea, I'm for it and Sundays are best for me. Can do Saturdays if the crowd wants to go that way and I'd host sometime also. I have to check on the dates you listed with better half, with 7 kids between us and 12 grandkids were always running off somewhere. Seems there's a St Pattys Day dinner coming up somewhere.

Sherman puts you West of route 7, North of New Milford, correct? I've been to that 2 day show they have in the fall (and maybe spring also) up there in Kent( I think) a couple of times.

Thanks

Hope the meet and greets really take off for you guys!

I think those informal meets are the best.

Good luck!

Kent( I think)

Kent is correct, at the old machinery place. The fall show ususally is good. I sold stuff there once as a vendor, and was in their tractor parade, with an old gilson. Not sure how my schedule is, but am interested in meet and greet also. There's about a dozen or so in our area. That'd be pretty cool. Perhaps a little private swap meet.

Sounds good Jeff. As the host maybe you should just pick a date and set the time that's best for you. I sure would like to get a closer look at your RJ resto. I am considering to do mine this spring if the "honey do" list can be put on the back burner along with my many other projects.

PS Or pick 2 dates and have a poll?

Looks like you have quite a bit of iron in that stable

By the way,

If I were to bring one of my tractors that needs a fine tuning... anyone coming that is good with the carbs on a 520?? I would be willing to be the guy who brings a tractor to be used as a display for a fine mechanic to show his skills.. I am really just looking to get someone else to tune the carb on my 520... thanks

Hey that goes for me too. My C-81 died when the wife was plowing with it. It's got spark and is getting fuel. Took the plug out and cleaned it and put it back in. No go. Won't even cough. This is a K181 but not the original. The previous owner had the original replaced 10 years ago b y the dealer. This carb doesn't have the primary fuel adjustment screw that is usually directly on top. It only has the idle fuel and idle speed adjustments.

Depending on timing, I might be able to bring a friend who has a B-60.

BTW-he's looking for a plow for it.

Guys,

I'm going to go with Sunday the 29th. This gives everyone a little time to plan and make any arrangements. If anyone can car pool, that would be better. I live in a lake comunity and can fit about 6 or 7 vehicles in my driveway. I'd like to get a count as to how many people are deffinately going to come. I will provide directions to those coming by PM.

Jeff

Jeff,

I will be there. I may bring my cousin and/or uncle Timbo and Uncle Bo. Let me know what you need me to bring. Also, if parking is going to be tight, you may want to let everyone know that trailers may be an issue to bring they're tractors. Thanks- Steve Bo
