Are we more alone than we think?

I'd say that I don't see many wheel horses workin BUT my neighbor gave me a C160 without an engine which I got some parts from. There is a B or C series on my school bus route that tends to move around the owners property a lot. I can't get a good enough look to see the model but it tows trailers and stuff like that. I know some other people who use wheel horses within 20 miles of me. I just take care of them and they take care of me. I am not afraid to use them. Every one of my tractors either pull, plow, or mow. Some do all of that.

My quote is "DON'T BE AFRAID TO USE THEM BUT DON'T ABUSE THEM"

Great stories and input guys.

Some of us are getting a little off track....lol

But you guys know I neverrrrrrr would!:whistle:

This is not so much about the horses we buy as it is

about who is seeing horses out working in your area of the country.

All stories and variations are interesting to me.

Thanks for you input Richard...

And Charlie...you are some kind of young fella.

You have the perfect combination. You have the

experience of an old timer and yet have the youth

to enjoy it longer!

AZTrooper...

There is a tractor show in Apache Junction in Early March...

You should go and maybe you might meet up with a few

horsey characters... If not...there is a parade....go show

them desert dwellers what a wheel horse looks like!

Here is what I copied from the show schedule:

Date: Mar 8 - 9, 2008 Location: Arizona

Arizona Early Day Gas Engine & Tractor - "The Evolution of Power" is the theme for AEDGETA Show to be held at Apache Junction Rodeo Grounds. There will lots of tractors and engines on display and tractor pulling all day long. The show grounds are located between Idaho and Tomahawk on Lost Dutchman Blvd. Gates open at 9. Tractor parade is held both days at 1 - 00. For more information call the club phone line at 623-435-3955. Hope to see you at the show, Apache Junction, Apache Junction Rodeo Grounds, 623-435-3955.

Let us know how it turns out if you go.....(in a fresh post)

Thank you for the heads up on the Tractor show in Apache Junction. Ive been trying to figure out a way to attend, but my wife's birthday is the same weekend so I dont think it would be a good idea.... but if I could convince her that she would like to go to it on her birthday , well that might just work.... Honestly though, I have been thinking about building her a tractor for her own, you know something that she could take an interest in. We have several small country parades in the area and sometimes there are garden tractors entered in them so it could be something that we could both do as a couple, heck even if no other tractors enter , we still could. Hummmmmm I wonder....did Wheel Horse ever equip their tractors with AC???? Just kidding  . Im in the process of restoring my 702 right now, when I get it done Im going to let her drive it around, she is a fun person, she might just enjoy it, I have a feeling that she will.

Thanks for letting me know about the show though, I wrote down their contact info so I can call them and learn more, perhaps there are other shows near by. I do know that a club attends Helldorado Days in Tombstone in October so Im going to go talk to that club also, I promise I will take pictures and post them when I go.

Once again, I want to thank you all for this great forum, I cant express now much I enjoy it.

Sincerely,

John

Hey John....your welcome!

There was a guy that just posted here in the classifieds or somewhere that he

has a D-200 down your way with a bad tranny.... Maybe something unusual

for you to consider?

And if your wife's birthday is that same weekend. Tell her your taking her

to a "show" and dinner in Apache Junction. Does she "have" to know it's

a tractor "show"???
