moe1965 718 #1 Posted February 4, 2018 I decided to replace the fuel line going to the carburetor from the fuel pump when I took the fuel line off gas flowed out from the tank is this normal. I figured it would only flow gas when the fuel pump was running.
squonk 38,928 #2 Posted February 4, 2018 Gravity is one reason. Position of the valve in the pump stiiting there is another. If it works ok I wouldn't worry about it.
Aldon 4,826 #3 Posted February 4, 2018 (edited) And it almost always does that for me to some extent. Although if you turn the fuel cock to the off position it should mitigate the amount of fuel or amount of flow. I use a needle like tipped squeeze bottle with fuel to refill the fuel lines before reconnecting to reduce air and help prime. moe1965 718 #4 Posted February 4, 2018 Thanks. I'm just knit picking my latest purchase. Fuel is not leaking by the float so that's a good thing. Someone bypassed the original fuel shutoff so I'm messing with that now. Probably bypassed because the O ring was all dried up. Thsnks again. Everyone on this sight is so helpful. 1
