What have you done to your Wheel Horse today?

Cleaned and wire-wheeled a pair of IH weights I bought couple weeks ago. These will be inside weights on one of my Wheel Horses someday. Black primer for now.
Strange flat head screw on each. I have like 4 other pairs of these, need to see if they also have the screw head.

Finished getting the newly restored Mackissic chipper shredder set up.

A few weeks ago I'd bought a new screen. I went with 3/4" diameter holes.

🕳

I believe that was a good decision after having put some material through the machine today.

I needed two more cross pins to hold that screen.

I used 5/16" threaded rod and some locking nuts.

Ran the beast for about an hour and made a decent sized pile of small chips.

HUGE improvement over the way it ran pre restoration.

Looking for that magic bullet.

Even a blind pig finds an acorn sometimes.

I went through my arsenal of inherited oils and solvents,  and hit the screws with a little of each over the past couple of days.  Since it was the last one I used,  I'll attribute success to the liquid wrench.

Was also able to source 2 hex head screws from my bin of random hex head screws ( also inherited).

After a thorough cleaning,  the cam plate will be replaced with one I picked up from Lincoln a couple of shows ago (weird way to tell time). The metal bits appear to be in good shape,  so they will go back in.

I know there are several threads addressing what to lubricate and what not to,  but please save me the time in searching,  and let me know.

Thanks all!

I can't imagine tractor weights were balanced, but it reminds me of the way I balanced hydro turbines by drilling a hole then plugging with fhms to cover the hole.

Maybe has to do with the casting mold being screwed together :eusa-think:

Today in Wheel Horse corner… My father and I did a road trip. We went to get the rest of the parts I bought from @ebinmaine, and added a few new things to the pile.
The Ag tires in the pile, after some finagling held air. so I put them on the 308. Much more tractory.🙂
Next, I figured I’d putter around with the unassembled transmission I got in the trailer load for a while.

Now, I’m done for the night as I’ve got work tomorrow.

Super cool.

Great to see you and your dad!

I'm glad to see all those parts going to a good place!

Close, the mold pattern was undoubtedly wood and was screwed together with flat head wood screws.

The screw was in the wood pattern to hold a part number.  For what ever reason no part number got attached.

Started adding more lights to the C-105. Most of its life is now snow removal... and much of that is at night. The rear lift and chain stays on it. Provides perfect spot for my flasher.

I hear that. Mine does snow duty in the winter as well, and it almost all happens in the dark. Getting out on the road to turn is scary, never 100% sure someone coming will see me, or that they can stop in time if they do. Pretty sure the little rear light on mine has saved my life a few times.

@Sparky It’s a very small gathering of Wheel Horse Dorks. Buncha weirdo’s that collect those tractors ?! Apparently somewhere in a valley in Pennsylvania, these people come from everywhere to congregate for this event. Maybe someone else here can elaborate?

Except Rich said he did it today, and the one you are talking about isn't for a month yet.

                                                                     :text-yeahthat:

It's a small clearing hidden among a bunch of apple trees that is impossible for a GPS equipped human to locate.

But these little horses seem to have a homing instinct equal to that of a salmon that spends several years roaming the ocean and then returns to spawn in the same small creek where it was born.

Seems a lot of these old horses return here looking for a ride to a new home.

Thanks man.  We're moving the loam a good couple hundred feet from the far left side of the barn.

It's impressive how fast the work goes with good equipment.

That's a 17 CU FT trailer. The winch is a game changer.

Trina's Military Tribute Tractor "Millie" is in use with her 10 CU FT trailer.

I'll have more pics later....

Went to mow the "hay field" of a yard and as I was going across the driveway, I saw I was leaving a HUGE trail of oil on my brand new driveway! :ranting:

Blew the short line to the cylinder at the valve.:ranting:

Limped back to the shed and proceeded to tear half the machine apart to get to it. (again) I should have replaced all of them the last time when the return line popped!

Found a set of good used ones on the bay for short money. Now we wait as the grass grows.
