Last fall I did a quick fab up of a hitch for my Cyclone Rake that worked out great. Tonight, I decided to add a 2" receiver and supports. Welds aren't pretty but it passed jumping up and down on the hitch without flexing.

I would be better to mount the electric fuel pump on the frame making it lower than the fuel tank outlet. Electric pumps are good at pushing fuel but they suck at sucking.

I was going to suggest the same. Also, if you have concerns regarding the reliability of the low cost pumps, it’s probably not a good idea to mount it to the engine, which has the potential to “Shake” it to bits!!!

It should be simply to relocate it.  I can just swap the location of the pump & the fuel filter.

Showed the boy how to finish up the Spring service on the tractor before he went out to mow.

We changed the oil last week, checked the belts and greased the lube points today. I don't feel the need to check behind the cooling tins this year since I had to do the head gasket over the winter. I have found that very little grass gets behind them plowing snow. I don't really bother checking the air pressure in the front tires anymore, they are so stiff that the sidewalls hold their shape even without air. Kinda like the tires from A Christmas Story...

"My dad's tires were only 'tires' in the academic sense. They were round, and had once been made out of rubber".

In the next few weeks, if we get a weekend that doesn't have rain, we will wash it down good and maybe pull the front wheel bearings apart to check them. I'm also on the fence about changing the gear oil. I know I should, but if I'm getting ready to do a tranny swap, what's the point?

Got the tacky back up and running.  Cleaned it all up and head gasket. Runs great now.

I like those Stacks quite a lot but it's a fair decent amount of weight to be hanging off the side of the engine. Have you seen where folks recommend getting a brace or support off the bottom of those?

I just put it on to test the motor.  I know it will need a brace if I keep it that way!  Thanks for the reminder though.

Looks great from here.

I have a nice tall stack on my 1975 C160-8 Cinnamon Horse. I like it all except for the fact that, this is now my semi-permanently mounted Mackissic chipper Horse and the spout points sideways so you have to be conscious which way you approach from.

I'm going to end up selling this one and not for much.  I really want an rj or a small Wheel horse tractor at some point.  I just want this one to be running and working when I send it down the road.  I don't have a barn or anything so I can't keep everything I want.  The 77 b-80 is my main worker and then a small little one for messing around.  I am going to get a shed soon so I can put these in it.  My neighbor is letting me use half her garage in exchange for cutting her grass and helping her out.

You have the tires I'm looking to put on mine soon.  Very nice.  I'm gonna repaint mine over the winter but wanted to use it this summer and make sure everything was good to go.  What size tire do you have on the back?  brand?

Carlisle is the brand, but I think they have changed their name to Carlstar, or something like that. The ones in the pics are 23 x 8.50’s.

Now I know that size won't hit the deck.  I was asking about that in another thread.  Thanks.

Today I washed 39 years of grease of my new 36" tiller in preparation for replacing the tine shaft oil seal (pn 103118) on one side.  I have been applying penetrating oil now, and I'll try to remove the tines tomorrow.

Then, I'll look for a source for the seal.

EDIT:  It looks like Lowell is the man for the seals.

I'm also looking for (2) deck pulleys, pn 109967, if anyone has some used.

Put new stainless tie rods on Ol' Rusty this morning. I hate to paint them, but they're so "out of character"!

Just think of them as "grille decor"...

Gentlemen,

Today I’ve been wrangling with replacing the lift cable on the ‘68 Charger 12. Can’t seem to pull it over that casting hump. Anyone experienced this before? Trying not to pull the pump.

Attempt 1: Fail

Attempt 2: Success

Applied the old, “where there’s a wheel, there’s a way”, proverb and removed the wheel so I could punch the cable over the hump.

Are you thinking of painting them like the rest of the tractor?   :teasing-poke:

A few years back I bought a 42” RD deck, but found out it has noisy spindles.  Today, I finally got a round to removing the spindles so I can replace the bearings.  Special thank you to @Rob R for helping me get the blade nut off 2 of them!

After almost 4mo of complications & bout 88days in hospital after quad bypass my dad passed last Thursday morning at home while sleeping. Finally took some "me time " alone in the garage to install stack on RJ. Thanks again to Chad Burris. This is 3rd stack i bought from him.

Thanks. Although it's hard to pick a favorite of all my Wheel Horses I think my RJ is it.
