agree with @Ed Kennell on the LUBRIPLATE , water shedding abilities , thats why I regularly treat my mower decks with it , no rust no rot , just lubrication , have not had a flange issue , have also used a BOTTOM TAP , on those set screw holes , to insure that set screw is not pushing rust , detail check all related fitment points . also like a allen  socket , for very solid setting . we used this type of split flange for tough stuff ,https://www.bing.com/images/search?  , its total pull force , right at the center of flange fit , made tough jobs easy . you  were always pulling  at center , pete

Joe are you running that outside tire pretty near flat? Those things are so stiff you're not going to want much positive pressure in it.

12 1/2 inch wide, added about 2 inches per side 

One set of rims was 3/4 less on off set, original space between tires was an inch , with the tubes being 6 1/4 long, now the are 5 3/4, 

somewhat a PIA lining up tread cause you almost need three hands to hold it fast while tightening the cross bolts. 
but just 1/2” space now

I'd go 8 inside and as low as possible and still keep the bead on, outside. Two? Three?

Time for addressing the "no muffler" issue on the C-100 project.  Keep in mind my welding skills don't even qualify for amateur status so be gentle if you are a skilled welder.  But didn't want to battle getting off the black pipe that was already on the k241 to put in a double threaded connector so I welded on a 45 degree angle bend so I could use 1" black pipe for a basic muffler.  I don't think it's air tight completely but it was pretty solid from the feel of threading in the pipe and I hitting it a few times.  So it should soot up over time in any areas that aren't sealed completely. 

 

End result is better than no muffler at all.  Straight pipe kohlers 4 feet from your face is less then enjoyable...

As long as the C-141 was out of hibernation and given the fact that we've had an un-godly amount of rain, I decided to hitch up the lawn roller to smooth out the lawn. Sophi followed me around for a bit & then all but demanded that she be able to copilot the affair.  Given the fact that I was flying along at 3/4 throttle in low 1, it was good that she came along to help with the high speed maneuver's.

I noticed a stiff ride on the Work Horse I just refreshed and put ags on the rear…

I lowered the tire pressure’s all the way around to 12 psi… feels much softer…

In my fluid filled rear AG tires I run no positive air pressure. 

The fluid keeps the bead set.

Maybe not so much what I did “to” my Wheel Horses today, as “what” I did “with” them…

I am all but finished the Work Horse refresh, so I figured I would put her in the tractor shed…

I got my two horses in there with the two yellow and white machines, but it was a tight fit…

Thought I was gonna have to toss a Cub outside !

What I did Joe is mounted the tires on the rims but didn't seat the beads. Then bolted everthing  up and mounted the whole shebang up on the mini changer and used it for the third hand.  Adjusted the tires to get the stagger I wanted then seated the beads. Just thought the not lined up lugs looked better. Still rides a bit rough!

One other thing was I think I got 3 tires from the same mold and 1 odd one comparing tread. Of course you can only tell it I point it out.

My approach was similar to yours. Air up the bottom tire with it lined up with a reference, and no stem in it so I could push it back down easily. Snugged the to rims together lightly, only using two bolts and none fiber nuts. Then positioned the top tire. I used a square to check and had to adjust the insert because the slop in the tubes allowed the top tire to be out high on two sides. And that caused a readjustment to line up the lugs. 

Probability was being way to picky. But it is a hobby.
