@Sodaking27 looks clean , is that a reflexion  on that hood ?  stay after my paint with lubrication , maintenance , use a graphite  or lubrication on my  plow blade ?  very easy slide off , makes that  first  plow off , wide and easy . do any mods to the PLOW QUADRANT / SWING SET UP ?  did this years ago , unthreaded shoulder bolts , with flat washers and elastic Lok nut, lets you dial in lubricated swing / movement area , also  did threaded rod , and heim joints to replace sloppy swing  rods. quadrant slide pin , works like a rifle bolt , detail / improve , every stage , nothing sarcastic , implied , only a suggestion , pete

Nice to see that the frame was in good shape to begin with...

I don’t actually know when I’ll have these in my possession, but these were about 6 miles from the plow day I attended last weekend.  I saw them on FB marketplace and sent a message asking if I could pay for them and have a friend pick them up.  When he responded, he said I was first in line and the only person who had not asked a bazillion questions.  I paid the man with Venmo, and he set them next to his trash bin near the end of his driveway.  Risky I thought, but Adam got them for me!

He threatened that they may turn purple and be on his daughter Angela’s tractor by the time I see them, and I told him they will likely stay whatever color he makes them and I’ll run em anyway if that’s the case!

The Bolens weights usually have the name Bolens embossed in the casting, like this photo I pulled from Google.

Painting Bolens Wheels, Weights, and Deck - Ride On's - My Old Machine

I used JB Weld to fill it in, on these Bolens weights to make them generic.

@Pullstart's look similar to these Simplicity weights. If you zoom in, there appears to be a part number.

Gave my 520xi that I got a few months ago its first workout. Went through a tank of gas vacuuming leaves. Was a little worried as the PO didn’t use the deck and it was stored outside. Plus with the new belts, there was a slight rubber smell when I was just making sure everything worked. But one tank under the belt with no issues. Now to repeat 2 or 3 more times until all the leaves are down.

Burning rubber, or just rubber?

Easy checks (with the engine off, of course):

1) make sure the belt isn’t rubbing somewhere it shouldn’t--bracket, cover, etc.--by moving the belt by hand.

2) make sure both front mule pulleys are spinning freely without wobble.

A harder check is to test each blade’s spindle for resistance, crunchy noises, wobble, and so forth. This is best done with the deck belt removed so each spindle can be tested alone.

Just slight rubber. Smell went away. One thing I need to check is the wire belt guide, just above left of the drive pulley on the picture . I don’t recall adjusting and tightening that down when I put the deck on the tractor.

Since the deck was stored outside the pulleys may have had some rust that was polished away as you mowed.

Checked the alignment on Dino. It had about 5/8" toe out. The existing tie rods are in excellent shape and there's no other wear so I figure it came out of South Bend that way. I've always felt that they steer better with a slight bit (1/8"-1/4") toe in. It sure steers better. Yea, I'm sure the heim joints are part of the reason as well.

I put the PTO belt on the deck. Had to adjust the pto a bit tighter and the deck sounds great. The deck that was on the tractor had far more holes than I wanted to deal with.  I found this deck from another member here. It cleaned up nice and I went ahead and put sealed bearings in the spindles. I can't read the tag but based on the reinforcement around the edge I'd say newer than the tractor. It also had the decal and not the metal tag.

There's a noise that I can't identify. The video doesn't pick it up very well.
