Handy Don

a wrench with the words safe met on it next to a measuring tape measure

You are so right!

Problem was that I’d brought only fixed-size wrenches out to the garage thinking “this’ll be a short job” so I needed an extra hike back down to the basement shop to get “the weapon.” Lesson learned.

Are these reversible or do you really need to stick with properly labeled orientation?

If you flip it over it's left handed!

I found a 7/8 ball that fits the hitch on the Commando.

Now I just need to fix the carb and I can use the tractor to move stuff.

I'm going to guess more people would have glass or easy access to it vs a 12x12 piece of thick steel plate. Wet sanding clears the dust out of fine grit paper to prevent clogging :twocents-02cents:

Got the 48 all hooked up had to buy a new belt. 42 takes 102"  48 takes 103"  Hard to believe it makes a difference...it does.  To wet to start mowing the paths.  I like the front mount as it  knocks some of the Tics down before they hit my leg   Already had one.. Going to need lots of DEET this year.  Did a short test may have to get a bigger horse the 48 put a load on the 14hp.

Nice set up. Can you please show a pic of the other side? Like to see belt routing. Thank you.

You have to dissemble the PTO... the back side belt goes outside the hoop.  Will take some tomorrow

I know what you mean, it got up to 74 degrees F. yesterday and I felt like I was in an oven.

Still used to winter temps I guess.

Well, I should have kept my mouth shut.

It's snowing heavily right now.

Summer and winter all in one weekend.

Yep.

We saw 74⁰ a couple days ago. We're not forecast to go above the upper 50s for the next 11 days!

And they hold up very well those seats. Have several after the OEM 's vanished.   :handgestures-thumbupright:    Source  ?  KP

Tell me about it.

I was dripping running the saw yesterday, now I'm annoyed that I left my work coat hanging at work when I left Friday.

@Chris689 make a regular habit  of penetrating oil spray down , of any  , dry / faded / neglected  paint ? soak it down and forget it  , let the penetrants  do their thing , usually a  darker  shade developes , showing you  what's there , then what  i do  is to use a  mineral oil  clean cloth  rub down , no rough  action , just  a total , refresh of  darkened paint , if the paint  does not easily  , break thru  with a color change , fine , leave it in the  vintage stage , seams like everyone wants to  instantly recover a show queen , everything I have is , recovered / maintained  , original paint  , looks the way it should be for the years of service . very east to experiment with this  idea , thats how I started , stay oily , pete

@peter lena it’s funny you mention this. I’ve been having this internal conflict the last couple weeks on whether or not to do a quick scuff and shoot of the 10-8 but I’ve come to realize I really like how the paint has faded on it and all the original stickers are still on it except for one. It has aged very nicely in my opinion. The C120 on the other hand I haven’t decided on yet. It got hammered with road salt this winter because hauling it on an open trailer to help family out for the first half of winter, then I got an enclosed trailer. So I’m on the fence doing a scuff and shoot on this one. I think the 10-8 will be a good candidate for keeping oiled. If I made either of them into show pieces I’d never use them.
