Well got in the first mow in the woods with the C100.  It did good and made the work so much easier than a push mower I would use.  It doesn't look steep and hilly but it is when you're pushing a mower.  This should be the go to rig for this job from now on.  42" SD deck.  Also did a bit of root clearing with the Barco FSS Pulaski axe.  Those are just handy if you've never used one.  I use this one all the time.  Needed to take out a few bulging roots to not ruin the deck or blades.  All in all went well and came out looking like a courtyard!

A few more pics of the “Repaired” mower deck pulley. Machining almost finished. I’m now waiting for some M4- 10.9 grade csk hd screws then I can clean it up and fit it.

Thanks for the compliment 👍It was a case of, I had to do something, I haven’t been able to find a replacement over here🇬🇧 (Lathes and Mills are such useful tools at times).

Well................I have officially been bitten by the Red Horsefly. Just won this at an auction! Starts, runs, has a "weak" battery, and comes with plow, chains and mowing deck! This makes # 2

Pulled the 875 out today. Turned the gas on at the petcock on the sediment bowl and guess what happened ??? Yup.... started leaking like crazy. I heard they are known to leak but I never had an issue with it. Anyone know exactly what I need to replace it with a simple shut off valve. Seem to remember trying to swap it out once but had wrong fitting for the tank. Think I remember I had a fitting that was suppose to screw into the tank but I needed one to screw onto the tank.

Try to tighten the nut on the shut-off valve a bit.  Another idea is they like to be either all the way in or all the way out.

but I needed one to SCREW ONTO THE TANK.

 

 

The ones we have here are 1/8 NPT with the tank having the FEMALE thread. 

 

Double check to see if yours has a PO installed adapter.

On my K181 the gasket between the glass bowl and the housing had dried out and was no longer flexible. From a gasket material assortment I’d bought earlier on the jungle site, and using leather-working tools, I cut myself a new one from fuel-rated rubberized cork.

 Mower deck blade drive belt on the 48" deck, decided to call it a day after the first cut round the green. Fortunately I'd got a couple in stock a while ago as I knew it wasn't going to last much longer. 

  Finished the green, then did the lane verges and mowed SWMBOs dog walk down the bridleway. Later mowed the widows back field.

Been a busy weekend as usual 'round these parts. 

Yesterday in between the electrician being here we started moving some rocks out of the space that need fixing and filling.  

All hand work so we could burn a calorie or 2.  

 

Today the Trina person and her Momma worked hard at cutting and splitting some firewood. 

I ran the chainsaw for a bit as well then switched over to hauling the wood out from by the garden up to the edge of the driveway where the woodshed is.  

 

Pulled 2 loads with the C160 Cinnamon Horse and Agri fab 17 cube trailer.  

 

 

 

Trina found some friends while out clearing the tall grass so we could work by the garden.

I’d love to have a seat back like this (when I built the “seat riser” I made a provision for adding a back).

However, I realize that it’d get in my way for my most frequent use--wnen I have the 36” mower on, there is no way to get close so I sit on the seat sideways and then swing my leg over (making sure to have the lift lever positioned FORWARD first.

I've seen folks step on the mower deck when getting onto the Horses without footrests, but I put too much time into refurbishing that deck to take a chance on breaking it with my weight!

  Hauled home a non-running 1992 416-8 (Onan) this weekend. Started messing with it today, pretty sure the tank was mostly water. Drained the tank, removed it, cleaned it and everything around it. Yanked the original grommet and fuel valve, if I find fuel line tomorrow it’ll all get replaced and hopefully I’ll finally hear it run.

@Sparky nice grab!  And good start on bringing it back to life.  Guess we’ll miss out on the thread titled something like “hard to start and only runs on starter fluid”. Looking forward to how it turns out!

  Yea…except when I pulled the trans dipstick it had a water/gear oil mix. 
  Once I know it’s a good running rig I’ll be tackling the fluids for sure.
