Well, the Chinese knock-off fuel pump has arrived for the 516, although the original seemed to be doing fine when tested. Just can't get fuel in that bowl! Replaced the pump - no go. Pulled inlet fuel from a can (thinking the fuel filter is clogged (new) - no go. This really was my bad but the fuel lines are new as well! Blew into the pump exit hose/carb inlet and there is no flow. Pulled the carb top again (bowl empty) and it takes effort to get any flow - with the float and valve removed. Reversed it - flushed it with Gumout and air - fixed. Mows like a banshee. Simple fix, and I now have a spare pump I can use for the 520 when I get that running.  I gotta say - the old restored C-125 just does whatever I want it to do for years and years. That 516 needs TLC fairly often. I love that Onan and its torque but it's always something.

Had these cool looking digital pressure and transmission gauges but they were garbage as expected from a Chinese product. Replaced them with conventional analog ones also USA made. In addition little woman comes home one day and hands me a “ gauge “ for the tractor . It’s an outside cooking timer. Now I can keep track of how long it takes to mow the lawn.

100% agreed.

Old Kohlers can sit in a barn for 30 years and crank on the first try with gas that smells like varnish in the tank. Good luck with an Onan that has fresh gas and a new rebuild. Completely different machines!

Got the dust off the 1257Heavy and finished up the hood. And mocked up my snorkel with the " I don't think it's the right size filter " but it came in bigger then I thought so might just work. And has a nice chrome heat shield that works as a nice rain gaurd. Other filter I'd have to build one. Also installed my new "TrailBomber" hood ornament from @Wheel Horse 3D!

Forgot to mention... that was 6,500 rpm I hit...

Just in case anyone was wondering...

I dunno how much in total this engine cost me to build... but it was a pretty sum... over 400$ for the crate motor, plus all the performance goodies... so probably around a grand, if I had to take a guess.

Now I got like 4$ in the Wheel Horse fund... LOL

Good built, she does need some higher gearing to be able to use all the ponies.
