Greased the 516. Forced all that old black junk out of there. Poor thing doesn't have a zerk for the front pivot, odd. No hole with missing zerk - no place for it. That PO jerry-rigged the left tie rod joint with a bolt and nut - surprised I didn't see that before. OK for now. Pulled the 42SD off the 125. Greased the arbors. Found that the tension assembly would not move so had to pull and clean that up. Sharpened the blades with a cutting wheel. Mounted it. The 516 just screams - ready for mowing. Starts cleaner now so the rings are sealing. Now, I kicked the fuel filter getting on it and it cracked at the seam so she stalled, sucking air. A little tightly stretched electrical tape got me home - a true red neck repair. I'll have to move a new filter up top...

I used the C-160 to move a Chevy Impala. I traded the roller/junker for an Ahrends snowblower that is very lightly used to say the least. more like spotless. . The guy who picked up the car might get a car that starts with a GM 3.8 but that needs some electrical work, so a good trade for us both,

 He was very impressed that the C at idle just squatted in and grunted that car right into position with me walking along the side.We could not get the engine to go because the fuel line was rusted and puking fuel, but she still caught a bit.

   He was remarking about "grandma gear" when I actually had the tractor in high range or fourth gear. Then I showed him first gear and his jaw just dropped.. We did use a Blazer to pull it up the ramps.so i told him to find me anything with a small engine and wheels and i would love to tinker with it He was gonna scrap the snowblower that has 99 percent original paint inside the chute.. un belivable that the dealer waned that machine scrapped until you think about it. They want to sell the new ones that are not built nearly as heavy as this machine which is by comparison a 65 mustang that might hurt sales of the new models. I had it firing in 5 minutes and running with a dirty carb in ten

Took a couple minutes to swap the dozer blade out for the plow. Flipped around my lift cable which I had installed backwards, and adjusted the clutch rod back a little. She's buzzing around better than ever.

Engine swap is Done. Ready to rumble again.

 

 

all works as needed, time for tilling.

Just not this Weekend because we have April Weather since today.

1/2 h Snowfall, Than 1h Sun and melting next 2h Snowfall  *g*

 

But the Horse is back in Service for it‘s Working tasks.

Just keep in mind, Kohler idle speed has very little ability for slinging the oil around.  When there’s a load especially, at least 1/2 throttle is required for adequate lubrication.

I unloaded my WH "tractor kit" this morning. All the while trying to put aside the parts being used in the next build.

So, you may remember this 310-8, paid $50 for it and was going to part it out.  But Eva seemed to be rather fond of it. 

After a little bit of work, it turned out to be a good running unit, so I decided to keep it.  I still wasn't sure how much I like it.  

After I changed out the spindles, added 8 inch front wheels and some ag's it started to look more like a WH.  Starting to like it but she needs a job.  Mower (?) not so much.  

 

That's better, now we are on to something.  I've had this 36" tiller sitting around for about five years, it was for a C-series but it lines up just fine.  Eva likes it too.  Just need

to get a rear lift assembly.  I hope to order that this week.  

 

On to some other needed items.

Not sure how much they weigh but remember them being quite so heavy!!   

Each tire took about 2 gallons.

The rears tires will get filled too, just not today.  The right rear needs to be tubed first.  I finished out the day with a fluid change on the transaxle.

This is what I used last year for the 2 small plots here on our property, a 315-8,  then what I am going to use this year eMax22... So no not over kill.

I would love to have the tri ribs but I cant find them tall enough. When I do they are 4 rib. The fronts are now 18x6.50x8

Got a super cool (early 60s??) Kohler generator from @Oldskool yesterday. 

I'll start a thread about that sometime...

 

 

Today I took a sawzall and turned a VERY rugged pallet into a stone boat. 

 

 

Used the Cinnamon Horse to drag the genny to a better place in the drive until I can wash it up and get it down to the outdoor workshop.
