Started Working On The Hydraulic Lift Table Today. Had To Fire Up Old Hobart And Get Her Burnin  Ran Out Of Wire had to go buy a 10lb spool Damn they don't give that away at $27.98 Kinda spoiled cause National Standard Co. is a block away from my house and I usually get some donations from friends of mine who work there. :dunno: but on a weekend with no advance notice kinda hard to get the freebies! Anyways after It was assembled "as I suspected" I will need to space the wheels out further kinda like "OUTRIGGERS" but for now I put a 100lb lead weight at the handle. I will clean up the shop tomorrow and roll a horse up on there and see how it is. If it will be stable enough I will be putting 5 horses on the platform tomorrow!

Most excellent!

I'm going to head down to KCC and see if they can teach an old dog how to lay down a bead like that.

Thanks Guy's! :dunno: Well I'm not as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was! :D Personally the welds are okay I guess, but I'm my own worse critic! I used to be a little better and steadier on the the torch. Ole age does things with yer eYe's I had to go and get a lighter lens for my helmet went from a #10 to a #8 Cause I couldn't see a damn thing  I'm in a race against time...... :D I have many tractors to restore and what I mean is every year I'm getting older, how long these Ole' eYe's will be able to see and the body can take it is a crap shoot. I shoulda found this hobby 20 years ago when I had more energy! I have to push myself every day "Sound Familiar"? I have been on the garage clean up and stable project for almost 4 months now straight, every spare hr is out in the garage, to be honest with you it's getting damn old, and I'm getting burned out! :omg: The fun part will be starting to finally work on some of these TRACTORS. The 701 has to get ready for the show and time is running out. <_< Well back out in the stable I go, gotta get the rest of the tractors in the stable today and the rest on the Platform! :omg: again!

I know how it is to have to push yourself everyday. Don't forget I'm older than you. I hope you know the show is getting closer and you still didn't start on the 701 yet.

Funny you should say that Duke. I'm in the same boat. I tried wearing my reader glasses under my helmet during the weekend, and it helped a bit, but I started thinking about getting a different shade for the helmet - as soon as the arc starts, I cant see a frickin' thing.

And to cap it off, I had to put on my glasses to read the numbers on a torque wrench today! Getting old is a *****...

Mike I have been doing some cking and Northern Tool sells a auto darkening helmet for 54.00 and it has GREAT REVIEWS!! Go there and click on the helmet and then read the reviews and features of the helmet and a great price at that. I have a Optrel Twisty and it wasn't working it wouldn't darken!!!! Just this last weekend I found that you have to put the helmet under a light to recharge the capacitors every so often <_< if ya dont it will F*&k the helmet up and so forth. Sure enough I took my lense out and put the photo cells face up under my florecent light laying on a clean rag on my grinder and guess what it works now!!!!!!!!! they sure didnt tell me that 6 years ago when I purchased it! anyways thats the Dukes tip of the day!
