Ed Kennell 35,829 #26 Posted March 22, 2018 Well, it is all over. He did leave the nest around 3PM for about 30 minutes. Then when he did return, he was attacked again by the other eagle(s). It appears he has left and will not return. The eggs are certainly frozen and will not hatch. It remains to be seen if the attacking eagles are a mating pair and will take possession of the nest. Ed Kennell 35,829 #27 Posted March 23, 2018 Up date on the eagles. The nesting female (Liberty) has not been seen since the initial attack and is presumed dead. Her mate (Freedom) has survived the repeated attacks and has killed the attacking male. The attacking male has been found near the nest. The surviving male (Freedon, and the new female (Lucy) are now a pair and have been working on the nest. It remains to be seen if it is too late for the pair to mate and lay new eggs this year. BTW, Lucy is a very large powerful eagle. The strongest two of the four involved has survived.

Ed, thank you for keeping us posted on this. I do appreciate it. Sometimes "nature" is a bit tough for some of us to watch but the strongest surviving is a better guarantee of overall species survival. Hopefully the Eagles situation will continue to improve.

rmaynard 14,909 #30 Posted December 24, 2018 (edited) The EAGLE CAMS are back up and working. This year there are three cameras. One is apparently very high definition. The PA wildlife and game commission is not the sponsor this season, and the link is directly through HDONTAP. I hope the eagles have better luck this year. https://hdontap.com/index.php/video/stream/bald-eagle-live-cam Edited December 24, 2018 by rmaynard
Ed Kennell 35,829 #31 Posted December 24, 2018 Thanks for the heads up Bob. The nest looks pretty sturdy. Maybe we will have less drama and a successful hatch this year.
The Tuul Crib 7,332 #32 Posted December 24, 2018 I just found this post and I'm glad I did I'm a huge fan of the bald eagle and when I go fishing here in Tennessee there are a couple near the lake where I fish! Thanx for the link to the feed. I'm glad to have found it!
The Tuul Crib 7,332 #33 Posted January 8, 2019 (edited) She back again but lost feed. She appears to be relining the nest. Edited January 8, 2019 by The Tool Crib
ztnoo 2,298 #34 Posted January 8, 2019 There's some eagle watching that goes on this time of year around our three big reservoirs in northern east central Indiana. You have to get out there and hoof it, however. None of this lounging in your jammies and drinking coffee in front of the monitor here for these bird watchers. https://www.chronicle-tribune.com/common/story.php?ID=7943

Ed Kennell 35,829 #38 Posted January 25, 2019 (edited) Beautiful day at the nest. The cameras are all up and both eagles are still busy fine tuning the nest bed with straw and corn husks. Only 3-4 weeks till egg laying. Edited January 25, 2019 by Ed Kennell

rmaynard 14,909 #43 Posted February 6, 2019 I don't need to watch the eagle cam. I have a bald eagle that has been checking out my tall oak trees lately. He landed about 10 feet from me one evening while I was taking out the trash. Sorry, no cameras yet.
