Guest fireman #1 Posted February 12, 2009 What type of pipe should I use for the exhaust on my RJ58? Does anyone know what it originally came with? Can't tell on my other one what that has but it doesn't look galvanized. Was it originally painted or did they leave it bare metal? in advance
KyBlue 655 #2 Posted February 12, 2009 Id say it was originally cast Iron pipe... dunno if it was painted or not...
Jim_M 179 #3 Posted February 12, 2009 The original pipe would have been black iron pipe. I'm assuming it would have been unpainted, the paint would burn off pretty quickly anyway.
linen beige 15 #4 Posted February 13, 2009 Unpainted, plain old black iron pipe. Don't use galvanized! The fumes from the coating burning off can mess you up! The Clinton's used 1/2 inch inside diameter pipe and the Kohlers used 3/4 inch inside diameter. The configuration of the pipe nipples and elbows is different between the two brands as well.
