Teddy da Bear 11 #3 Posted February 12, 2009 Thanks guys.......this posting you have really has lifted my spirits. My wife came out of surgery about 8pm last night. It was more involved than we thought it would be. She was in very sad shape.....worse than the two surgeries she had before... Seems like that has been the pattern of our life together. Our second date was in the hospital. My mother and father in law had 11 other children to look after (they're Amish). And asked ME to stay over the first night at the hospital and watch their daughter.... You can imagine it was love after that....lol This morning she was very groggy....but seemed better than last night. I am still worried because they cannot get her blood pressure up even with those pressure socks. It was 84 over 45 You can imagine.....I am no housekeeper.....and things are really.....ummm...well you know....here at home. Wow...I have a new respect for her as a housekeeper. But I don't want her to come home to work....so I am going to get this place in shape.... It is just hard to be here and there at the same time... She will be in the hospital for 5 to 6 more days to make sure that her insides are working correctly. Guess we spent our second date on the 4th of July in the hospital so many years ago....now we will spend Valentine's Day in the hospital this saturday. Thanks so much guys. Teddy da Bear 11 #7 Posted February 13, 2009 Thanks everyone.... Kathy (my wife) got up and walked this morning. You could not blow me out of that bed with dynamite if I had gone through that. We went round the 12th floor 3 times... Then this afternoon we went around 4 times... It is necessary to get things moving in her. At times...when all the patients are out at the same time...it looks like one of those slowwww races....lol I am reminded of a Chinese proverb that I hope will apply for our life. It says "It does not rain every day". Which means there will be good days and bad.....take them in stride. Cherish the good ones. Thanks again..... Thank God for friends. hodge 6 #10 Posted February 13, 2009 Teddy, if we weren't all so spread out across the eastern US, we would get a field trip organized, and clean your house for you. Sure enough, I would. Anyways, I am praying for you, your wife, and your family. Blessings to you. Mark

Teddy da Bear 11 #12 Posted February 13, 2009 OMG! You guys are the best! Blood pressure came up!!!! Hey.....I am going to the hospital and plug in my laptop and let Kathy see the great thoughts and wishes posted here. Knowing her.....this will really touch her... The next post you see might be from Mrs. da Bear.....lol Clean my house? OMG.......no way! Thanks for the offer... but wow....that would be embarrasing for other people to see all this....lol I hate to admit to this...but we still have our Christmas tree up! There just has been one thing after another come up... oh well... I mopped the kitchen floor this morning until Kathy called me from the hospital and wondered if I could help her wash up and take a walk......so off I went. Hey how about restoring a horse for me? lol Like that extreme makeover show... :dunno:

stevasaurus 23,493 #15 Posted February 13, 2009 I hope the dancing bananas aren't taken wrong....blood presure's up. I have been through alot with my mom...she's bionic..both hips..quadrupal bypass etc. I know the hospital staff on a first name basis. I just think that sometimes a smile and if it doesn't hurt to laugh, it is the best medicine. Still my prayers. If my mom lived near the railroad tracks, there would be a notch in her mailbox, The hobo's would know where to stop for a meal. You seem like that kind of person. Teddy da Bear 11 #20 Posted February 14, 2009 Thanks so much guys.... Sorry Mrs. da Bear could not type..... But she really loved the thoughts and prayers.... She did not have such a good day today....seemed to be a lot more pain. Nurses say things look pretty good. But have not seen the doctor in two days. He claims to have been in yesterday at noon....but wife never saw him. Her "system" is still not responding....but that is not out of the ordinary......if it hasn't by tomarow....I will get a little more nervous. Thanks everyone! Teddy da Bear 11 #22 Posted February 14, 2009 Wife is still about the same... Her system is still not responding....so I am getting nervous. She needed a unit of blood today as her count was down. Sure wish I could catch that doctor, I wrote a bunch of questions down for him and hope he will take time to answer them if he comes in after hours. Thanks for caring.......we can definately feel that.

bustedglass 1 #25 Posted February 14, 2009 TDB - I have not been on the site in a while, what with the ice storm here, no electricity for a week, trees and limbs everywhere, and I had to put my Mom in the hospital this week, I have been busy . I was in the hospital this past October for 17 days. I was in a coma, and on a ventalator for 7 of those days. The doctors told my wife on 2 seperate occasions that I might not pull thru. But, with a LOT of prayers, and by the grace of God - here I am. With that being said, I BELIEVE in prayer, and I am sending all of my thoughts and prayers your way for your wife and for you ................ Hang in there buddy, she will be fine soon .
