I have a 314-8 and it is a beast of a tractor. The 414-8 is a great tractor and it will do everything you need. There are a lot of older guys here me being one of them to help you with anything wheel horse. When you get it there are manuals here for it and the deck.

Welcome to the best wheel horse site in the world.

Welcome to the forum.

The deck will be a 42" rear discharge to make searching easier and the models in these lists are not necessarily what you have. They did not change much between 1973 and 2007 for that size of tractor.

:text-welcomeconfetti::rs:Glad to have you . 72 is not old , you are just getting started. Be careful the horses will  multiply  on you if you let them.

Thanks everyone for the great welcome. I do have a question- how to post a picture. Can I download one from my computer to this site or do I have to download it to a hosting site then to this site? Can anyone suggest a site?  Thanks,Mal:thanks:

Welcome, nice looking tractor, I've got its sister, a '88 312-8, except mine doesn't have those ugly yellow growth thing coming out of the rear wheels:o.

Tuneup

Well taken care of. Is there sag on the front of that deck? Can't quite tell but it would be a linkage look-see. Shouldn't they be a little higher front to back? Excellent score! Welcome!

Tuneup, I adjusted the deck when I put it on with the height set at the half way point on a level floor and I put a level on it and it looked good. Am I missing something? I need to learn the tractors.  Thanks   Mal:huh:

I don't think the deck looks odd, but here is a manual you will want to keep on file.
