What model WHEEL HORSE do you have. The older units had a thicker backing plate than the new replacement clutch disk. I have a 1977 C120 and I replaced the clutch disk around 10 years ago. I wore out the retain clips 2 or 3 times before I discovered what was wrong. I fixed it with a spacer I made to go behind the clutch disk, but it's a real pain to get spacer, clutch disk, sleeve and the clips all lined up when putting it back together. As for the lining thickness I can't help you, my guess would be 3/16". My old metal clutch disk was 3/16" the new replacement is 5/32". The lining now measures 5/32" but it's been used 10 years or so.
