RandyLittrell 3,827 #1 Posted April 5, 2017 Finally got a new shed! Thanks to T-Mo, who posted about his shed, I went with the same company. Derksen sheds. http://www.derksenbuildings.com/ I bought a 12'x24' side lofted building with 8' walls. I thought a was getting a color close to my shop, but I see I really need to paint the shop now. Here is another pic or 2. Ya, its been raining! Can't wait till it dries up and I can fix the grass I tore up and get things in order. I looks pretty crappy right now, but it will get better soon. AMC RULES 36,945 #3 Posted April 5, 2017 Very nice... would love to have one... about a 6k shed up here.
jellyghost 378 #4 Posted April 5, 2017 I am in KC too, and that is a great looking shed. If I could get a playhouse built on the side, my wife might let me have one.
RandyLittrell 3,827 #5 Posted April 5, 2017 I guess I should tell you, thats my son Bryan in the picture. He is my right hand man! Many things I couldn't do without him. Thanks for the good thoughts! I will keep posting pics as I do things to it. Plan on stacking GT's in one end and the rest of it storage and work space for the tractors. I will use the other shop for welding and woodworking. T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,345 #10 Posted April 5, 2017 Very nice shed, Randy. Derksen was great to work with, and the guy who deliver mine and set it up, was great also. He was talkative, but can't blame him once he saw my 551, my 702, and my JD 110 RF. And you will fill up quicker than you think to the point you will probably start to think, I should have went with a bigger size. Sheds, garages, and trailers are never big enough.
formariz 11,862 #11 Posted April 5, 2017 Nice. They are so big when they are empty.

RandyLittrell 3,827 #13 Posted April 8, 2017 I have done some cleaning and put the ramp up. Thought I would throw a couple more pics up. Still need to punch a couple of holes at the base and pin it to the concrete pad. Randy
RandyLittrell 3,827 #14 Posted April 9, 2017 (edited) Another pic for today. Building a platform to park tractors below and above. I didn't want the loft originally because of lack of height, but the gal I ordered the shed from checked the wrong box and thats what I got. I do like having a loft, but gonna have to pull wheels off to put tractors up on top. Might not be too bad. RandyLittrell 3,827 #15 Posted April 10, 2017 Here is a picture of my grandson Vincent, he is my little helper! I would sweep up the sawdust and he would drag it back out. We probably spent a half hour doing that. I so enjoy spending time with him! Randy
SylvanLakeWH 24,172 #16 Posted April 10, 2017 Lucky kid, lucky grandpa! Which is his?

The 401 will be his I think but having second thoughts because of the motor location. Just means I need to buy more horses till I find one that will work for him! ohiofarmer 3,157 #18 Posted April 19, 2017 I wish I could see your pictures. I saw the first few,but now all I can see is a bunch of coded script. Love your comments about your grandson

RandyLittrell 3,827 #21 Posted April 19, 2017 I did copy and paste from my google photos, not sure why they are not showing now. I admit to not being the best at computer issues. I will post a couple more and see what happens. Now here is a pic of some building I did on the inside. I can just squeeze about four tractors in on the bottom, and put parts and such on top. Here is another pic of my Grandson, still helping out! Randy Built a tire and wheel rack above the door, figured I would try to use all the space I can. Randy Built the pad for it a little big on purpose so I could have a place to set implements on the gravel, up off the ground.

RandyLittrell 3,827 #23 Posted April 22, 2017 Well, my son and I got one self built this morning. Still have more planned just going at it one at a time. Randy
elcamino/wheelhorse 9,060 #24 Posted April 22, 2017 That is a nice shed and you have some great ideas on the storage. Grandson is a great looking young man.
ohiofarmer 3,157 #25 Posted April 23, 2017 I would make one small change in that the big shelf over the tractors could be supported from the ceiling with plywood strap hangers. Use rated deck screws because drywall screws will break. It would just make things easier to get the mowers underneath and the floor is also easier to sweep without those "legs " in the way. Plywood strap hangers will hold a lot of weight because they will not split. Your barn looks great and you seem to have the knack for creating what you need for the purpose
