Snow in Clayton, NC

The last time we had any good snow was back in 2004 and it wasn't that much.

Monday night and Tuesday we got about 6 inches of soft fluffy snow that was great to play in with the kids.

I didn't get the 753 out in the snow, the fuel pump is leaking around the rubber diaphram and I'm trying to fix that but me and the family sure had fun in it.

It's melting now and is suppose to be 55 degrees here this weekend. Gotta love this NC weather!!!

Greg, Nice picture there is some Pretty country down there! Picked up my 400 Suburban down in shelby West of Charlotte the fall of 2007 really enjoyed that trip. :thumbs:

Gator I snuck in there like a thief in the night and rescued this tractor from a Its kidnapper and brought it back within 12 miles from where it was Born! It shall sit next to all it's Round Hood Brothers and soak up the heat of my Stable never to experience another frozen day again! Just look at it sitting there can't you see how happy it is on the Stable Porch!

Never again will she breath in that crisp mountain air.

Never again will she close her eyes and just listen to the wind rustling in the trees.

Never again will she gaze in wonder at the bright foliage of a mountain fall when the hills seem to be on fire with color.

Never again will she hear the sounds of a mountain brook beginning it's journey to the sea.

Never again will she wake to the smell of a country breakfast frying up in the kitchen. (Well maybe close. You can throw a good feed.)

And Gator, I come through there a couple times a year myself! So do my in-laws. So far no luck, but I have them trained to look for faded red.

There aren't THAT many down here, but I suppose the best way to find them around the mountains is just looking around on a drive through.

For some reason, there are almost NEVER any listed on Ebay, Craigslist, etc... I guess there isn't much internet use in the mountains. I have however, seen a few up there under a shed from time to time.

But for future reference, to anyone looking for one here in NC, we do tend to charge a fee for taking them back across state lines...

Just kidding of course.

"What was a typical night for me."

What rock through yonder window breaks,

Of pet shop full of fishes and snakes,

Alarms go off, a call, for help!,

Just to be stealthy his siren won't yelp,

Approach is made cautiously nearer in dark,

As he finds a safe place for his cruiser to park,

Quickly the window shows more than just cracks,

Proving attention was regrettably lax,

He calls in the canine so young and so lean,

With nose of perfection and snarl so mean,

Pooch lowers his head and straightens his tail,

It is suddenly clear he is hot on a trail,

Through thickets and fields he tracks hard dag nabbit,

Only to catch up to a free spirited Rabbit!

Sometimes the "burglar" wants out.

But just when you thought this was completely , I offer this to tie it in.

Never again will she feel the soft, cool mountian mud as it oozes between the treads of her feet. Only the hard, artificial floor of her cage.
