Nick 13 #1 Posted January 18, 2009 Well we only had a bit over 4" the other day but during todays heatwave above 20 degree temps thought Id play in the snow piles. :horseplay: Thought Id shoot some video on how a loader tractor can pull itself out after getting stuck. Took a few tries but after getting the tractor high centered and the tires spinning ya just put the loader down and push yourself out. Not the best snow pile or camera location but ya get the idea. Nick 13 #7 Posted January 18, 2009 The LR is a little modified but shows them small tractors can get er done. :horseplay: I wasnt sure how the blade would hold up to hitting piles but so far it hasnt twisted into a pretzel or fallen off, but I'll try. PJ, Normally I would also think singles to have better traction with duals being used more for stability. The tires on the Ranger now are old narrow sets of Gum dipped Firestone 5-12 tires with fairly thin style lugs. I havent tried them as singles but its my guess with the amount of weight that is on the tractor they might do better as duals. They also have some bad weather cracking so Im not sure Id want to run them as singles. The Firestones give me a bit more height and with the thin tread might have about the same contact area as my commercial tread single tires. But with much better stability.
