No pics of the steaming piles in the garden today?

I doubt that Ill get as ambitious as you but the last couple years my brother has put out a garden with his kids but the old farm ground hasnt done the best for them. Dry years didnt help them either. Should get some kind of fertilizer on it for them, thinking maybe some of that natural stuff could help.

Even a poor crop harvest didnt matter to the kids, its all fun. :horseplay:

This crap is messing with me having to put the Epoxy Floor coating in the Horse Stable on the floor  The concrete block that the walls sit on is transmitting the cold on the slab. <_< I'm gonna hafta figure something out  damn weather anyways... :dunno:

 plan on lots of tomatoes, corn, okra, squash, hot peppers, bell peppers, watermelons, cucumbers, onions, green beans and cantaloupes, my son made 400.00 2 years ago and banked the money and stated we needed to grow more so i thought i would give him the GT18-LP and equipment and let him go, last year the garden didn't do so well, had the soil analyzed and was told needed more organic material as my soil was to hard and to much clay , RX, wheat straw and manure, so i went to the livestock auction here in Beebe and they have big piles of it, cost me 10.00 a big truck load , just for loading the manure is free and already mixed with the wheat straw, got lucky there, also told to add phosphorus(ms); county agent here is all in to helping people with their gardens . more people are planting them this year, we have a farmers market here and the states largest flea market, about 20 acres of STUFF. I plan to help my son and let him sell everything, gives him something other than tv and games to do . and he saves everything he makes, the "bankeress " :dunno: really kids him when he makes a deposit and he loves it...(has his own account) keeps him busy and makes him some money for college..

I tossed in 100 lbs of sand into my plot last year. I had alot of people tell me that was stupid, it was gonna turn rock hard... Hmmm Well when I tilled it all under this summer..sure wasnt.

Just a thought. if you need to break up the clay a bit more, sand is a pretty neutral thing to use.

I wish my yard was bigger, Id have a huge garden...

 Scitt that sand holds mosture and loosens the soil, thick soil such as clay cramps the roots and sand will loosen it up,, i had a small plot about 3 by 3 a couple of years ago with donna fill in it , kept it watered and i didn't have tomatoes plants, had tomatoes trees, at least 4"tall and way to many tomatoes, for us three.

Nick gonna help my son make some money selling produce, he is a real go-getter at projects like this and i keep encourageing him. less $ from me for college.
