My daughter was admitted into the hospital this past Thursday. She got out last night. Turns out she had RSV, basically a bad cold. The wife and i are exhausted but we are glad to be home. They have her on a nebulizer(sp?) every 4 hours for the next couple of weeks but she should be ok.

With her heart defects the docs were worried. I must say the mobile heat meter she chewing on was nice, all we had to deal with was the oxygen tube.

I must say its hard when its your kids that are sick.

Goodness!!! I did not even know your little one had health issues.

They both do - my wife has quit working to take care of them.

Daughter - 2 holes in her heart. On the line of operation and self healing. They do not want to operate unless its necessary. She goes to the cardiologist on a regular basis for monitoring. She also has seizures but we keep them under control with medicine twice a day. The seizures are coming from her frontal lobe which tells us nothing except where they are located. They say in theory she should grow out of them as well.

Son - Neurological issues and he suffers from childhood apraxia. We are not get him the help he needs because no one has treated this in kids under 5. They say most parents don't catch it. I found an awesome therapist that said she would try her best and make special treatments for 2yo based off what a 5 yo should have. Between out therapist his occupational therapist anf first steps his week is pretty busy. He is also seizure prone but hasnt had one in 6 months or so.

Other than these issues they are in good shape. :hide: The doctors dont understand the seizures as no one in my family or my wifes family suffer from them.

Really hard to see little ones suffering, you feel so helpless.

Good to see she's getting better though, even with tubes in her nose she's a cutie!

Nebulizer? is that the mask thing you put over their nose and mouth? My daughter hated that I'd have to practically get her in a wrestling hold when I had to give her those....

Weve got a mask but have yet to use it. She is teething and like to chew on the end of thing we use.

The meds look like smoke when they come out and she looks like she taking a hit off a bong.

David ,I pray you babies get better, nothing makes you feel so helpless as watching a child suffer, my son was born 2 months early with undeveloped lungs and sometimes has difficulty breathing, it kills me and makes me feel so helpless.

we pray that your babies grow out of it ...jerrell

BTW beautiful baby, when they smile, you cannot help but smile with them..

I just saw this post and your babies are in my thoughts. I hope she's feeling better now? My son had asthma really bad when he was a baby but he didn't mind the nebulizer, and my little girl was born three months early so she had lots of problems but she just turned 4 and is doing well now, thank goodness. My fiancee has epilepsy and belongs to an epilepsy forum where she has learned a LOT about seizures and how they work in a very short time (she was only diagnosed a couple of months ago and also has frontal lobe) and her doctors told her next to nothing. Just "take the pills". She says there are a bunch of parents of children with seizures (even ones who haven't been diagnosed as having epilepsy) and she thought maybe you'd like to check it out. Sometimes it's nice to be able to talk to people who know exactly what you're going through and to be able to find answers when you need them. I wish you all the best. Chris & Trish
