Hi yesterday I check for a air leak at the intake manifold with W40 and there is no air leak at that part the way I check it was to warm-up the engine because the surging problem came only wen the engine is at warm temperature

now i am wondering if some of you can tel me what else to verify to diagnostic the surging up and down rev problem the mixture gas screw is set 1 1/4 turn out .

thank

I suggest you do a search for " onan surging" . You will get 70 results to read about the ONAN surging and the repairs required.

Your tractor model number is 31-16OE01 and the serial number is 10134.

There is a link to the Onan service manual here you can download. Scroll down the page.

Here is a service bulletin on governor hunting in case that is your problem

I have a 416h i could not get to stop surging. I cleaned the carb 5 times very thoroughly and it ended up being the float was bad and the carb was not quite adjusted right.

like all posters have stated. clean carb

remove air cleaner

remove top of carb. avoid dropping bolts into carb throat..tends to add to the problem

remove float, needle jets. again do not drop parts into throat of carb.

compressed air can and carb cleaner are your friends.  just don't get carb cleaner on paint

if after cleaning carb, like 3 times, move onto governor adjustment threads

welcome to Onan world :text-happynewyear:

Hi today we have  snow :greetings-clappingyellow: after replace the intake manifold gasket the engine surge but only at fast idle without load on PTO after get my yard blow so Il check whit w-40 for any manifold air leak and there's no air leak so the surge problem should be whit the cab
