Achto 29,342 #1 Posted December 1, 2016 (edited) I have a really nice looking Schnacke recoil starter. I've already determined that it does not fit on a Kohler K91. I've included some pics to see if maybe some one has an idea on what it might fit and what the value of it might be. The mounting holes are 4 1/2" on center Edited December 1, 2016 by achto

VinsRJ 723 #3 Posted December 2, 2016 You have the mount for like a 2-cycle chain saw for the time period.

Did they make the same recoil for every one & just change the screen/mount to fit the engine shroud?
Lane Ranger 11,383 #5 Posted December 2, 2016 (edited) Schnacke made several different recoils. Used on vertical outboard motors, chainsaws, lawn mowers, etc. You can see the screen housing mount on this recoil I have on a K 90 or K91 motor housing. The factsheet is a page from a Clinton Motor Manual with the Schnacke Recoil Parts listed. This may help you search for parts. Here is a link to more information on the Schnacke Recoil: Edited December 2, 2016 by Lane Ranger

Achto 29,342 #7 Posted December 15, 2016 Thanks for the info @Lane Ranger! It doesn't look like mine will work on any thing I have. I guess I will just make it a wall hanger till I find a home for it.
Lane Ranger 11,383 #8 Posted May 25, 2020 From the Kohler K-90 manual. A Schnacke Recoil instruction. The key to good working Schnackes is the gap between the recoil and flywheel nut.
