dirtnap 39 #1 Posted November 27, 2016 I've been spending a lot of time reading up here recently and I keep hearing about the "swept axle" some WHs have. Can someone explain exactly what that's all about? Are they swept backwards? Do they have an advantage over "non-swept" axles? What years were they used? squonk 43,918 #2 Posted November 27, 2016 They were used on 520's to allow you to run a 60" deck.

608KEB 796 #7 Posted November 27, 2016 (edited) So a 42" plow won't work on a 520H with swept axle without the extension? Will the blade hit the front tires when angled? Edited November 27, 2016 by 608KEB

Yes when angled it hits the front tires unless you extend the blade frame with the kit or the cheap way I did it, by adding a 3-4" extension(I used angle iron) between the angle head and mold board where the retaining pin is, also when the 42" wide is angled the snow/dirt/ect will exit right into/under the tire it's angled to I had to add extensions to to the mold board as well it now measures 50" wide, Jeff.
