bmsgaffer 2,053 #1 Posted October 12, 2016 I don't have a picture of it assembled (doh!) but it is an aerator. It may be handmade from bits and pieces, but does anyone recognize any part of this thing? It has a handle for pushing it around, steel spoke rims and hubs (with covered grease fittings), with a steel cylinder and pins welded to it. Here is the wheel for it: My dad has had this walk around aerator for as long as I have been alive. I don't know how long its been around before that, but I know it has been passed down at least once. We didn't have much attachment to it, so we left it out in the woods for 30 years and just pulled it out when needed. I am tearing it down, painting it and putting a hitch on it for his tractor. It has really neat cast iron hubs and wheels, a steel cylinder with the pins welded to it. It has a large 1" axle and GIANT roller bearings that have 30+ year old grease that kept them smooth this long.
AMC RULES 37,195 #2 Posted October 12, 2016 Pretty neat ol' aerator there Brandon, hope we get to see it in action. Kinda reminds me of the one Stevebo has.
953 nut 59,716 #3 Posted October 12, 2016 I suppose it could have been a part of a roller mill for milling sugar cane.

bmsgaffer 2,053 #6 Posted October 12, 2016 The closest thing I have matched this too is the wheels from an OLD McCormick Deering "Little Genius" plow when they were made with steel wheels (1940 and before -ish i think?). It has the same type of hub design (there is almost a swirl effect where the spokes come out, the picture shows it better) but the plows had 12 spokes, mine only has 8...
