@Jerry77 Thanks for the info . My 416-8 has a Kohler m16s motor. It has a Walbro carb on it now, but I don't think they are made any more. Running in to a wall. Tried Jack's small engine. Partstree, Repair parts clinic . I think my card is beyond repair so I am looking for a replacement. There has to be something out there.

I just assumed that it was an Onan - even with the problem you have, I would rather have the Kohler...:)

I have had great luck with the new carbs sold on EBay...check out EBay seller isavetractors or go to isavetractors.com. You can get a brand new carb for an M16 for $60. I have bought three of these carbs, maybe they are knockoffs, but they worked perfectly right out of the box.

Yes, a '88 would have the M16 Kohler.  But, if it was an Onan, the intake gasket will, over time, become brittle and begin to leak causing what appears as a carb problem.  If it was an Onan, then replacing the intake gasket will solve that problem.

But, as mentioned, a '88 416 will have the Kohler in it.

Norman   at isavetractors.com  will fix you right up.

I have bought  a half dozen or more carbs from him for the Kohlers.

Just a heads up, I bought a carb for a k181 from russos on ebay awhile back, 39.99. The fuel inlet was a weird 3/16 inverted thread, I tapped it with a 1/8 tap and it works just fine, The ones from Norman, at isavetractors cost a little more but no tapping, also if you have a question or a problem you can call and talk to HIM, big plus in my book. Search russos here.

@Wishin4a416 The Winder family is cursed when it comes to carbs. If it don't work right do not try to fix it . We waste money , time and end up buying a new one anyway. I have cleaned off the work bench , laid down a clean tee shirt , nailed it down with wood edges , had nice bright lighting , all the correct tools and ended up losing new little parts, broken little parts and come away with a migraine. Therefore if anyone wants a couple of used carbs that may need rebuilding I have them. One from a 310-8 , a 416-8 and one from a 10hp Tecky ( the electronic crapole was bad ).
