Lane Ranger 11,259 #1 Posted September 13, 2016 (edited) My friend Roger Parmely of Greencastle, Indiana completed his rebuild of a 4 wheel Wheel Horse wagon the other day . To celebrate the completion he hauled his Wheel Horse RJ in the four wheel wagon with his 1966 656 Wheel Horse! What Roger started with and decided to go whole hog and restore! New Sheet Metal panels made for all four sides! Just like the originals! Edited September 13, 2016 by Lane Ranger

elcamino/wheelhorse 9,362 #7 Posted September 13, 2016 Wow , that is very nice , how long did it take for the complete restoration?
Lane Ranger 11,259 #8 Posted September 13, 2016 He did this in about a month! I could not believe he took this on!
elcamino/wheelhorse 9,362 #9 Posted September 13, 2016 Holy Cow , one month it would have taken me a month to figure where to start and where to hide the cart from the Chief Financial Officer.

CasualObserver 3,410 #12 Posted September 13, 2016 They don't come up for sale often. Prices vary drastically! The time to buy something like that is when you see it, as long as you can afford it. @WHX7 Jim... you'll wish you bought that one you saw for 900 if you are waiting on mine! You know how much I always say sentimental value is a wildcard? Gonna be a long time before anyone ponies up to get mine... you know... on my estate sale.

Jason, I wish you the best of health but If I wait long enough I just might get to own your wagon before I croak too.

KC9KAS 4,744 #15 Posted September 13, 2016 @Lane Ranger WOW that is a really nice looking wagon that Roger has! I have been thinking of having new sheet metal bent for my 4 wheel wagon...What gauge steel did he use?

stevasaurus 23,229 #17 Posted September 14, 2016 Excellent pictures Lane. That one is a calendar shot for sure. Always knew that those sides could be made, but it is excellent to actually see it done.

clueless 3,181 #19 Posted September 14, 2016 What's the story on the face on the RJ.
Lane Ranger 11,259 #20 Posted September 14, 2016 (edited) The face on the RJ was handpainted by a local guy in Greencastle using the 1958 RJ manual face that appears in several spots on the manual! Roger thought it would be cool! Photo is below from a page in the manual Ken and All: The metal used on the wagon side rebuild was 16 gauge steel a sheet 4 x 8 feet cost $100. A local guy with a shop bent the metal on a metal break for the rebuild. Edited September 15, 2016 by Lane Ranger
