hondagod64 81 #1 Posted September 3, 2016 I just re-stored a 79 C-121 12 hp wheelhorse with all new paint and new regulator and ignition switch but left the wiring alone [ good shape with no breaks or frays ] . The tractor was charging fine before I took it apart and when I final got everything back together and fire it up I noticed that the meter wasn't charging. Checked with volt meter and had nothing but battery voltage..Is it possible that I lost ground at the voltage regulator due to the paint because I have good ground every where else...any help on this would be great... oldredrider 2,547 #2 Posted September 3, 2016 Try running a ground wire from one of the regulator mounting bolts directly to negative post on the battery. Good insurance even if that is not the problem.
