1960 suburban transmission belt size

Recommended Posts

AlwaysLookin80

Just finishing up a full resto on my 1960 suburban and I was wondering if someone can give me the correct belt size and info for the trans to engine belt. I need a new belt and it didn't have one when I got the tractor. Thank you.

Is it just a standard 30" V Belt you can buy at Tractor supply?

The WH #1569 is 28.95" x 1/2" wide. I ended up using a 30" also. Tractor Supply is fine but I'd suggest a Kevlar covered. :)

WHX??

29" for sure  ..I also got a 30 and a 28 to save another special trip  but the 29 worked best & took the other two back. ACE hardware

What you should do @Skeeter65 is start a thread in resto & mods, call it skeeter's resto, that way all us 400 fans can follow it  help you out from there.  You are going to need to spend 20 bucks here http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/store/product/2-1-year-redsquare-support/ so as we can check out all the :text-coolphotos: you post!

:text-yeahthat: A dedicated thread is definitely the way to go.:)

It weird Jim. I know it's supposed to be a 29" but that was way too tight. Even the 30" seems a bit tight. I've got the motor off right now but when I put it back on I need to do some investigating.
