Does anybody have info on the C120 Special as far as production. I was told they only made just under 400 of them.

C120 Special

More often than not the "Special" was a :wh: with a non-standard engine because the usual supply of kohlers dried up and they needed to keep the line moving. Don't know that it would affect the value one way or the other. Like @stevebo said, some '74 and '75 C-120s came with a Tecumseh.

:text-yeahthat:  bout sums it up....

I'll add that some were C160's, not just C120's.

As I understand it, Kohler was not able to supply enough engines and Wheel Horse went to Tecumseh. In '74, some of the C-160 8-speeds and C-120 8-speeds and automatics came with the Tecumseh engines. They were made along with the Kohler powered tractors and were simply labeled as C-120 or C-160. The model numbers were different to correspond to the different motors, and the 160 hoods were raised up in the front to clear the taller OHV Tecumseh 16hp. In '75, they were back to all Kohler power except for a few C-120 8-speeds that were labeled as C-120 Special. Probably a pretty rare tractor, but I don't think any build numbers were recorded. I'd like to know how many '74 C-160s were made with the OH160 Tecumseh like the one I have.

There were two 12hp Tecumseh powered models in 1975.

The model 1-0357 was a Raider 12 and made in Belgium.

The model 1-0375 was the C-120 Special and made in West Bend.
