rmaynard 15,993 #2 Posted July 8, 2016 Check the brake band adjustment, and if it is in need of adjusting, the procedure is in the owners manual. If you don't have a manual, you can download one from the manuals section. If the brake lining is worn out, replace it. New brake bands are still available, and replacement linings are as well.
953 nut 58,498 #3 Posted July 8, 2016 Is this a sudden change or has it been coming on slowly? Could be a cotter key came out and linkage is unhooked.

rmaynard 15,993 #8 Posted July 8, 2016 You will have to jack up the rear, remove the tire and inspect the linkage. What year is your C-120?
WheelHorse-fan 3 #9 Posted July 8, 2016 Im not sure what year it is but thanks for the info
rmaynard 15,993 #10 Posted July 8, 2016 Does it have a hood ornament? 1974/75 had ornaments, 1976/77 did not. Just makes it easier to locate the correct manual for your C-120
wallfish 17,661 #11 Posted July 9, 2016 (edited) Remove the left rear tire and you will see the brake band and how to adjust it. Check for oil on it and make sure the lining is intact. The shaft seal may be leaking behind the drum which is common. If it's oil soaked you should fix the seal and clean the brake band. I soak them in gasoline overnight to break down the oil. You can follow all the brake linkage up to the pedal and inspect it. Edited July 9, 2016 by wallfish
