Exhaust Stack on my 1257

Recommended Posts

Welp after I got done with the restoration on the plow... I got an idea to make a stack for the ol girl. I went thru 3 set ups and finally like how it looks. The first one I tried was the chrome angled pipe that I was forced to put 4 clamp on (looked like an eye sore). The second was a 1 inch iron pipe that was too small (looked like a small @$!# poking out of it lol).

Finally... the last try was stepping up to a 2 inch iron pipe 30 inches high, flat black flame proof paint, and a top rain cap flapper. After wasting $ on the ones I didn't like.... I finally got it how I like it. I also have a small brace from the bottom of the smaller pipe before it adapts to the front of the engine block. It's not much of a brace but it's enough considering the stack is solid tight as it is.

Was thinking about a muffler from tractor supply but I wanted it straight and seems everyone gets those mufflers lol.

Thank you 857 horse! I figured a stack would make it look better than the stock, although I kept it for the originality.

Grandsons "needed" a stack. The "truck" look.

@TankmanI've been thinking about a stack for a while, is that a motorcycle slip on type or something you made up?

Yea it's 30 inches exact from the block to the top. The picture makes it look huge lol

This is the bracket I made... 3/16" thick... don't think vibration is going to be a problem lol. I'm paranoid about breaking or cracking the block so I got this bracket I just made and the small one that's on top (not in pic.)

I wish I knew what or where the muffler came from. Was given to me by a friend, he hasn't a clue either.

No ID on the muffler. Yes, a slip on and clamp.

I was also given two Screaming Eagle bike mufflers. Gave 'em to a friend working on a Harley. Oh well.
