Brian1045 28 #1 Posted December 13, 2008 I was reading the forum on "seat covers" and ran across a pic that sorekiwi had posted. His pic shows 2 carriage bolts for the seat mounting. If you look in the manual it shows only 1 in the center. I have mounted my new seat with 1 bolt, but there is a little back and fourth play before it hits the little stops. The 2 bolt makes more sense and way better for strength. I know this seems a petty thing. But I like a strong seat and wonder how everyone else's old timer WH's are mounted. TJ 171 #2 Posted December 13, 2008 I use just the one bolt and my seat holds just fine.

All mine are just mounted with one bolt. The picture I posted is actually not my tractor (its probably an ebay picture I had saved), it was just the best picture I could find of a pan style seat! On the other hand, there is 2 holes in the spring, why not try it both ways, and see whether it makes a difference?
Brian1045 28 #4 Posted December 13, 2008 My seat came from an old Sears tractor but it's the same. I have a huge clap looking bracket that came with with it. I may try using it, especially if I use the back square hole.
