Little known Pond History:

 

Just for grins, Lil Cecil Pond took his Dad's prototype Wheel Horse out for a spin one night...Unfortunately, Cecil got lost, couldn't find his way back home due to really confusing signage and ended up at the Motor Parkway Racetrack. Once there, he was hired to hall race cars around with his Dad's WH prototype.

 

Well...After Elmer gave him his whooping, Lil Cecil grew up, eventually chatted with the folks at the Indy 500 about it, figured it was worth a shot... copied the idea...and the rest - 500 Specials - is history...
