dells68 7,499 #28 Posted June 18, 2016 Been a long time since my last update. I pulled the GT14 out for the first time in a couple of months. Tore all of the sheet metal off, stripped her to bare metal and painted her regal red, put on some of Terry's decals and Glenn's dash, shift panel, and hood knob. I've still got to fix some cracks in the steering wheel and put on the bearing caps up front. Overall, I'm pleased with how it looks. GlenPettit 1,717 #32 Posted June 18, 2016 Looks like this front wheels are 2" hubs, but there isn't enough room really for a small (flex rubber) hub cap to fit on them, maybe the metal ones can snap on that. ztnoo 2,300 #35 Posted June 18, 2016 (edited) Lube them just slightly to help them slide, then very lightly bump around the outer rounded part of the dust cover with the softest rubber mallet or hammer you have. Who care if it takes slight longer to put them on if you can minimize damaging them? I painted mine this winter and because they were totally undented, I spent a little extra time making sure they stayed that way.
