855 WH Extension Spring

Recommended Posts

DownHome

I'm working on my 855 WH and have noticed that the spring on the right side (seated) is broken. It looks like it attaches to the frame and then to the pedal on the right side. I'm not sure what the function of the spring is? From what I found in the manual is that it's part #5714 So far I have been unable to locate a replacement. Can anyone help? Also what does this spring actually do? Thanks.

Since I have removed the deck, do I need to be concerned with this Spring?

No unless you plan on using a attachment that needs to driven from the engine

      Runs good
Sheet metal is very straight, great candidate for restoration.

Blade is straight and lots of cutting edge left... just a little rusty.

My 875 is missing the small spring that is attached to the cam/neutral plate.
The part number is 1230 and NLA.
Anyone have one or know the dimensions of the spring?
      Thank you!

Looking to buy a replacement spring for belt idler on my tiller.  Tried using one from a mower deck, but it was too strong and bends the idler out just enough that the belt walks off the flat idler.  I've done an internet search for the original part number (6135) and came up blank.

Any suggestions?  Is there a Napa or Stens equivalent?

      Thanks!
