MWR 321 #1 Posted February 22, 2016 As usual, the snow here in Tennessee didn't stay long. Now the task of reworking the driveway is underway. While the official "company" line is that I am attempting to grade the gravels back onto the road after this winter's snow removal, actually I just enjoy riding around making the gravels roll. And I had to take the Wheelhorse down the County road for spin.
Tankman 3,523 #2 Posted February 22, 2016 Grading stone is at least a monthly chore. Of course, the grandsons chore. They want more? I don't usually use the snow blade, but have done so on occasion. Usually the Allis-Chalmers, now with a 16 hp Kohler and mid-mount grader, does the heavy grading.
DougC 2,643 #3 Posted February 22, 2016 I tried to take it easy this year and not push the rock out into the grass very far. Lots of wet heavy snow and loose rock equals.........Oh crap...............

Thou thalt not covet thy neighbor's tractor, thou thalt not covet thy neighbor's tractor, thou thalt not covet thy neighb.... OK! I just want the mid-mount blade! But I'd take the tractor too! Almost bought one, made an offer and should have given in, but... I got to have something to "covet"!
Tankman 3,523 #5 Posted February 23, 2016 (edited) Dennis, the Allis was a barn find but, paid big bucks! Was a hard negotiation, settled on a couple of hundred bucks. Guess the come withs made me go for it; mower deck, snow blade, snow blower, and tiller. Thank goodness the three point hitch works! I added the lights and ag's from my stock. Clean up 'n paint. Had a running 10 hp but I had a 16 hp on the shelf so...... Edited February 23, 2016 by Tankman

953 nut 60,096 #7 Posted February 23, 2016 @Tankman, you need to buy your grandson another shirt, that is embarrassing to think you let him go out in public dressed like that.

I know! Just awful! One of his uncles works for you know who. Years ago I did a chemical processing facility at their manuf plant, Iowa if I recall. Red is for the blood we shed! Hate to say it but, "Green is to show the world we're mean."

Then I noticed it's almost to Boston! Not VT at all! Might still be worth but I got to draw the limit somewhere...
Tankman 3,523 #10 Posted February 23, 2016 Sounds like a road trip. Been looking for a Horse mid-mount grader blade local for a long time, no such luck. That was one reason I picked up the Allis besides, the grandsons needed it. Been busy cleaning my barn, need room. Every time I tell the boys, "That's it." They stumble on something else. What's a Pop-Pop 'posed to do?
