Theroundhousernr 590 #1 Posted January 31, 2016 (edited) So I noticed some jerky movements from my hydro this past storm. I chalked it up to the bushings in the dash column or lack of lubrication. I sat on the my 416H this morning to move it and thought the whole tractor was rocking on the rear wheels it seemed. I lay down on my creeper and find this! Can anyone tell me what size and length bolts this requires, hopefully I can pick some up on my way home and loctite them in. Thanks! The other two are loose to boot! Just was researching, looks like your dead on with 3/8/16 x3/4" Thanks! Geez, This is a nice tractor to, almost zero rust and hardware like bolts and springs look darn near new. Talk about dropping a rear, twisted sheet metal and linkage... Geez.. Theroundhousernr 590 #8 Posted January 31, 2016 The weird thing is I could have sworn I looked under at the mounting plate last year and everything was accounted for. I guess maybe I was looking for cracks and the side plating blocked the missing bolts from where I was looking. Hard to believe they fell out in one storm. Been having jerky hydro movements especially going from forward to reverse and stopping. Recently got a lot worse. squonk 43,843 #10 Posted January 31, 2016 (edited) When I had a Snowblower on a C-145, I was out hitting the neighbor's driveway pretty good. We had over a foot on the ground. The bolt that holds the chain for the mower lift bar fell out and that bar was dragging. I backed up and that bar caught and lifted the entire rear off the ground! Just thinking those could have been overly stressed or something while the frame was moving back and forth. cleat 7,260 #16 Posted January 31, 2016 According to the parts manual 3/8 x 7/8 with lockwashers. Loctite may be a good idea, I would just use blue in case you ever need to remove these again. stevasaurus 23,281 #18 Posted January 31, 2016 You do need the lock washer. If you are not sure...put an awl or a 3/8" bolt in and measure what you have...give a little room for tightening. Squonk...you are correct. It is not rocket science...if the bolt is too long...put in a shorter one. Nothing is coming apart on that thing and when you work on it you better have power tools or it's gonna be a long day. Theroundhousernr 590 #24 Posted January 31, 2016 OK so NEW grade 8 bolts and lock washers. All 4 bolts replaced. I dont mess around when it comes to that stuff. Blue thread locker and beleive it or not , I even torqued them to spec of 35 ft lbs. I just got home and read all these comments and had a good chuckle!
