:hide: Mike- When I first got my "C" I thought it was slowing down going forward, but it turned out to be the motion lever was creeping backward as I drove. I adjusted it thru the hole under the seat and-its fine now. My lift cyl. leaks too-but I have only had to add 1/2 qt. oil in a year and a half. Guess I'm not worried about it til it gets worse. Well. its off to work. See Ya!-AL

There was discussion on "another" forum about lift cylinders that don't appear as though they come apart.It was brought up that when you disconnect the hoses the cylinder will come apart and can be serviced.

Mike have you checked the condition of the drive belt & idler?

Also have you drained the hydro & replaced the fluid & oil?

These old hydros get finicky if they are not serviced.

when you disconnect the hoses the cylinder will come apart and can be serviced.

Some of the earlier hyd cylinders used by Horse came apart this way.

Later models had a welded on cap & have to be cut apart by a pro to be rebuilt.

I think I can help you there Teddy, The cylinder is P# 108872 for $273.80 or there are 2 different kit for rebuilding depending on the retaining ring style for about 50 and 100$. Personally I'ld take it to a hydraulic shop like the dump truck guys use for their cylinders and rams and see if they could rebuild it for you. Good luck .

I know there are a ga-zillion types of cylinders out there. I was wondering if there was a suitable aftermarket cylinder that would work. At this point....restoration accuracy is not an issue.
