Trailblazer SS intake on a 5.3 Tahoe Z71

Anyone have any thoughts/experience on an intake swap from a Trailblazer SS to a 5.3 Tahoe Z71? I have been hearing great reviews, and some not so great. The great are outweighing the not so great. I am not expecting "out of this world" difference. But I would like to see is a little better mpg and off the line response. Not "quick" off the line. Just response when it comes to stepping on the gas.

My 03 Z71 4 x 4 will squeal the tires and take off like a raped date ever time if I want too!

BUT tires and transmissions and differentials are expensive!
