cleat 7,257 #1 Posted September 28, 2015 Would this deck from a 260 series fit my 520 ??I have a couple of old decks that I can use for parts to convert the suspension if that is the only difference.http://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?utm_medium=email&adId=1104967624&siteLocale=en_CA&utm_campaign=email_alerts&utm_source=alerts&utm_medium=email&utm_source=alerts&utm_campaign=email_alertsThanks, cleat
Ed Kennell 41,988 #2 Posted September 29, 2015 If I'm seeing this correctly Cleat, isn't the 2nd pulley (counting from left to right) the drive pulley. If so, I don't see how you could route the belt to the mule drive without interfering with the suspension arms. Anything is possible, but it looks like a drive train wreck to me. May take two custom mule drives with the belt crossing in front of the 520.
can whlvr 994 #3 Posted September 29, 2015 im pretty sure the shell will work, you will need all the goodies from a classic deck likr spindles, belt tentioner bar, lifting harness, but they asking a little too much imo, taking that u have to totally retrofit it,the one thing that might not work is the front anti scalp wheels, they might hit thr front tires, only way to tell would be to slide it under a tractor
Bert 760 #4 Posted September 29, 2015 I think if you swap almost everything from a classic series deck it would work fine if put on one of your 520's with a forward swept axle to clear the larger front roller brackets. I may be mistaken but I think I've seen this done one a blackhood with a 520 front end? Its worth digging in the old threads in my opinion
cleat 7,257 #5 Posted September 29, 2015 I thought so. Price is kind of high but he may come down.
bds1984 1,499 #6 Posted September 29, 2015 It can be done as ling as you have a donor deck from a horizontal powered machine. I did the parts swap back in July when I came across an NOS deck from a 270. After a few hours of work, and some swapage of brackets and spindle shafts, I had a brand new deck for my C165. If you make this swap, you may have an issue with the front gauge wheels clearing the front tires if the deck is going on a non-swept axle machine. It looked pretty close when I was going through my refresh of my C165.
cleat 7,257 #7 Posted September 29, 2015 This deck would be for my 520-HC so yes it has the swept front axle.
